If US ships had been sunk the whole world would know about it before the first hull hit the sea bed.

You cant cover the deaths of thousands of sailors.

Reading the story in Sputnik it sounds like the "sinkings" were in fact "computer kills". They say the French sub, in the second part of the exercise, was able to penetrate the fleet defense and got shots off, hitting the carrier and some escorts (which is the purpose behind war games).

and yeah had it really been sunk it would have been reported on the news. The exercise occurred on March 4th. Considering the number of lives lost had it been real, upwards of 5k-7k people, we would have heard about it.

My guess for the removal of the twitter comments is it brought attention to a deadly flaw that we don't want others to know about.

Just read on another post , Egyptian warships fired on (warning shots) Iranian ships off the coast of Yemen. If this is true, another step closer to all out war outbreak in the Middle East .

This is a good thing. Iran are big time trouble makers. They even let their little yap dog Hezbollah out to run its mouth.

Iranian backed militias in Iraq, yes it does sound funny and is, have refused to fight in protest to american air strikes. They want america out of that war as well.

Anyway its all there.

It's all just crazy over there. WTF is the USA doing letting Irans go nuke? They should have taken out Iran when they took at Iraq and Afghanistan, at least put it's scientific community out of business. Iran going nuke = Saudi going nuking, probably others too, totally mad. Just let the Israelis do an Osiraq 2015 asap please

Do you want to know the beauty of this game?

So rebels at Syria are ok! And we (U.S. Saudi Arabia, et al) need to give them weapons to fight the "evil" Assad. But wait, at Yemen, those rebels need to go!! Who they think they are to fight against their leader...ah!? ok!! I get it! this rebels don't like Saudi Arabia or the US... so it's ok to go their and kill them all!!

twisted logic everywhere...

Thought this might help in understanding what is going on.

The UN Security Council is currently in the midst of peace negotiations with Iran attempting to hash out a nuclear agreement and the possible removal of sanctions on Iran as an offering of good faith for signing such an agreement, and the deadline for this agreement is right around the corner.

But now we have Saudi Arabia starting a full-on war with Yemen... at this particular moment in time ?

Why not 3 months ago ?
Or 3 months from now ?

Am I the only one who sees this timing as a little too convenient ?

Good point. Your suggesting Saudi is trying to waylay the nuclear talks by escalating a war that a puppet of Iran is fighting thereby intensifying the pressure on Iran to bolt the talks or just mucking them up generally

If that’s what your saying, I agree

…AND America is supposed to be against Al Qaida in Yemen, the AQAP, who the Houthis are fighting against?

So why does the US support the Saudis here who are pretending to be against the AQAP but many are suspicious…

Why is the US against someone who is against AL Qaida?

Because the scum bag Saudis are against Iran who support the Houhtis.

What a fine mess

Depend idiots like Obama and Kerry to muck this up worst

I think they could buy every pound of the US's military hardware and pay to crew it and still have money to deck it out in gold plating.

Thank you.

Well stated.

The question is should the USA (and my own UK) be selling the Saudi state of art weapons systems when there are one of the biggest despots in the world and indulge in in almost every human rights abuse.

Yes, that's what I'm saying.

I can't see any other reason why the Saudis would suddenly jump on Yemen at this particular moment.

The fighting in Yemen is nothing new. So why now ?

Netanyahu made it perfectly clear in late 2014/early 2015 that he was going to put a stop to these negotiations come hell or high water... and that's exactly what seems to be going on.

Everything that's been happening over these past couple of weeks make it blatantly obvious, IMO.

Makes one's head spin, doesn't it ?!

It's all a fricken joke is what it is...

Everyone is playing both sides, bound and determined to have a fullscale war.

And that's exactly what we're going to get.

Israeli Fighter Jets Join Saudi Arabia in War on Yemen

...
"This is for the first time that the Zionists are conducting a joint operation in coalition with Arabs," Secretary General of Yemen's Al-Haq Political Party Hassan Zayd wrote on his facebook page.

He noted that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had issued direct orders for the Israeli air force to send fighter jets to the Saudi-led air raid on Yemen.

Saudi Arabia launched airstrikes against Yemen and killed, at least, 25 civilians early Thursday, one day after the US-backed Yemeni president fled the country.

Also, 15 more people were killed and injured in a second round of massive attacks by the Saudi Arabian fighter jets in the Northwestern Yemeni city of Sa’ada on Friday.

Yemen’s al-Massira TV reported that the Saudi air force targeted the Yemeni's civilians who were shopping in a market.

Five Persian Gulf States -- Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Bahrain, Qatar and Kuwait -- backed by the US have declared war on Yemen in a joint statement issued earlier Thursday.

US President Barack Obama authorized the provision of logistical and intelligence support to the military operations, National Security Council Spokesperson Bernadette Meehan said late Wednesday night.

I knew it !

I knew Netanyahu was linked to this.

The Saudi aggression has received growing international condemnation as it is pushing the region and the world into an unprecedented fast-growing war as its ISIL mercenaries are on the brink of complete annihilation in Iraq and Syria.

Can somebody please explain to me why the hell we are buddy chum pals with Saudi Arabia ??

The US on the surface are friends with Saudi over the oil business.

Its money. It’s that simple. Indeed money is what motivates the West being buddies with Saudi

The Saudis are friends with the US because the same reason Israel is friends with the US, security.

So we're going to send logistical aid and backup our 'pals' in a war that's going to be beneficial to the enemy terrorists known as Al Quaida and ISIS because... money.

Gotcha.

Nope.

I personally reckon we should invade Saudi, all that lovely oil security /money must have the US and UK hawks dribbling at the thought of it, and get rid of one of the worst dictatorships in the region at the same time..result.

Invade Saudi Arabia, you know it makes sense.

There are quiet agreements between Israel and Saudi Arabia / Kuwait / etc. In this instance I believe the term that applies is the enemy of my enemy is my friend.

Israel and Saudi Arabia are cooperating militarily when it comes to Iran. Should Israel go after Iranian nuke sites they will be using Saudi bases.

You seriously gotta read the things you post... nowhere does it say ships were sunk. It was claiming that during wargames a French sub got a theoretical kill (which is still bad as it implies the carrier has a gaping weakness), but that's the point anyway, to find weaknesses.

Besides that, the US has what, 8 carriers or so? If one sank it would be the biggest news. If you even COULD sink one, those things can be disabled, but a monstrosity to actually sink
