Not sure if this is relevant to the Airbus A320 but I know that Boeing aircraft have the Uninterruptable Auto-Pilot where someone can take control of the aircraft remotely to stop a terrorist attack or incident involving someone getting into the cockpit. Does anyone know if Airbus has a similar system in place on their aircraft ?

No, Boeing doesn't have an autopilot that can take control from the ground. They have a patent but it's not on any aircraft.

It's now confirmed that he was unfit to work on the day of the incident and he was hiding it. German laws protect doctors not to disclose any medical conditions even serious mental conditions which now costs the live of 149 people.

Either way this guy probably was about to be removed from active flight and he couldn't deal with that - first lost his girlfriend then this .. too much for him to take in - especially in his condition. He was 27 years old and about too loose the most important thing in his life. I can see how you can go crazy .. still this is not suicide but plain MURDER.

Why can't these idiots kill them seleves by jumping from a bridge??? I tell you depressions is the most serious condition that kills too many innocent people.

International law needs to change for certain groups like Pilots - those need to be fully disclosed to the employer and actively tracked. I hate more regulation and to put the burden on the Pilots but they have too much responsibility over the life of people.

If the Dr. knew what he did for a living, and it was a note involving unfitness to work due to depression, I think it would have went farther than that. It could possibly be for influenza / cold or a simpler condition. European Dr.'s recommend that a patient take a break from work a great deal more than Dr.'s in the West.

I'm still asking the question and not reading or hearing any answer whatsoever.

Why do the authorities keep telling us about the sound of Lubitz's breathing but they don't mention the sound of the door alarm going off? This is extremely strange.

When it comes to procedure pilots are some of the biggest sticklers on this planet. The senior pilot would have followed the procedure and entered the over-ride code to at least attempt to get back into the cockpit. This would have set the alarm off for 30 seconds. Yet no mention of this?

In the following article they state

"The only sound heard from inside the cockpit is steady breathing, implying Lubitz was alive until the moment of final impact."

Note they say the only sound... Now that may be incorrect, but I'm still waiting for any official mention of that door alarm going off (and which Lubitz would have had to override from inside the cockpit because unless he had not done so the pilot would have had 5 seconds to open the door and get back into the cockpit).

So, they mention the sound of breathing and the sound of possibly the axe hitting the door in a violent attempt to break back into the cockpit... but no sound of the EMERGENCY ACCESS PROCEDURE... enter the emergency code, press the hash key, triggering the timer for 30 SECONDS... IN THE COCKPIT THE BUZZER SOUNDS CONTINUOUSLY, AFTER WHICH THE DOOR OPENS FOR 5 SECONDS

There is a serious hole in the logic here.

"We predicted on the day this accident occurred that the public would not be told the truth. Airline profits rule, so once again the favored excuse is to blame the pilot. Has the public been allowed to hear the cockpit voice recorder? This will not be allowed, or only after it has been altered to fit the circumstances. What is missing at present is the door access BUZZER. Normal exit and entry are via an intercom identification after a single keypad button is pushed. In an emergency a code can be typed into the keypad. It is true that the cockpit can block entry by pressing the lock button continuously. BUT during all or any of this, a buzzer is loudly sounding. Was this buzzer mentioned by the press?

If scraping chairs and a shutting door and steady breathing can be heard, where is the buzzer? The press has made much of the co-pilot breathing “steadily”, proof that he is alive and the crash deliberate. Anyone conscious and seeing a crash into a mountain side looming will NOT be calm. This is an involuntary response. He would be screaming, and rapidly breathing. The co-pilot was unconscious from lack of oxygen, as the compressors had shut down. Oxygen deprivation first involves confusion and sleepiness, then becoming unconscious, so unless alerted that the oxygen level is dropping, the co-pilot was unaware this was happening to him. How often do carbon monoxide deaths occur where the family is taken unaware? Why was the cabin oxygenated but the cockpit not? The cabin is a larger space, with more reserves in the ducts.

What about the deliberate descent? Would not the co-pilot fall on the pedestal controls while falling unconscious? Electromagnetic pulse destroys electronics selectively, some devastated, some damaged, and others able to function. What is clear is that radio communications from the ground can be heard on the recording but communication from the plane was utterly absent. Alarms just ahead of the crash can be heard but no door buzzer sounds. Door pounding and shouts from the pilot can be heard on the recording, but no intercom. And the recording itself proceeds until the crash, but the keypad control of the door lock and the keypad buzzer are missing."

I think that's a detail they just left out - I am pretty sure that they have the emergency buzzer on tape... and if not, maybe the captain didn't know the code?

Given the context of that portion of the article, which the subjects are the pilots, not necessarily the crash or the aircraft, they write to that and report to the relevant facts.

It could have been the response to a question like "Could you hear the pilot? Was he talking?" Answer to that is "we can only hear him breath and the muffled sound of the pilot banging on the door..."

Until transcripts of the CVR are released we could assume many things and I would bet a shiny new nickel that not only access alarms, but low altitude, over speed, terrain, etc were sounding.
