I think what you're looking at in front of it is the bottom wing of the biplane in the foreground with the flaps lowered.

One of the old Rutan "Eze" types missing some parts was my first thought as well, but... looks like a retractable nose wheel close to the fence which would be the back of the plane? I think the three holes are vents and wiring access into the back of the cockpit.

Not sure here. I agree the holes are vents or control cable/wire holes through the bulkhead. It like the front wheel is away from the fence to me. Those two things that fold in the back may be retractable landing gears for the rear wheels. I do notice the hole above the center of the wings, like a cowl was removed from it. I've never seen a plane that has the flaps on the leading edge, so I am going with away from the fence as the front.

No I counted those of the bi-plane .. to be sure. And I caught the fourth wheel as the front landing wheel of the sky jacker.
I believe CessnaKC nailed it.

Flew remarkably well too. Turns out that design is remarkably efficient. It's a low aspect ratio aircraft. It doesn't stall, it doesn't spin.

The yellow plane is a Russian AN-2 Cub for the test pilot school based at the Mojave airport.

There was an episode of Destination Truth where Josh Gates is riding shotgun in this aircraft. I think in Romania. Just after take off, the top part of canopy flew off.. but it did not render the AN-2 un flyable. Just a really windy ride back to the airport.

So I'm guessing the prop is positioned behind the cockpit? So weird. It looks so stubby!

It fits into the gap right behind the cockpit.
