I also think it is important to note that the Russians are in no way shape or form serious about this. Pulling out US tactical nukes that are their under NATO agreement would simply mean Poland, Turkey, Italy and Spain would go nulclear over night followed by others who would need them without the US umbrella. That of course would be a total disaster for the Russians.
This is simply Russian yapping. They want attention. They want talks to end santions and they will keep making noise until the West gets tired of hearing and pays them some attention.
Granted the is all very embarrisng for Russia. Its alliies and friends around the World have rushed to embrace the US, China has shown it support goes not furthery than making a mildly worded statement, and the former Soviet Republic whom it considers in its sphere of influence are doing anything they can to escape to the West.
For what was once a world power reduced to a regional pariah, this is a hard pill to swallow. Russia will continue to bluster and make threats because that is all it has.

Why would I feel foolish about another persons opinion / observation on what occurred in the time when the USSR was collapsing ?
If we look at why the USSR collapsed, and compare it with Russia today, you can see the very same result.
The only conclusion that informed analysis supports is that Washington is the greatest threat to life on earth. Washington is a greater threat than global warming. Washington is a greater threat than the exhaustion of mineral energy sources. Washington is a greater threat than the rise in world and US poverty from Washington’s policy to enrich the few at the expense of the many.
The only possible conclusion is that unless Washington collapses from its economic house of cards or is abandoned by its NATO puppet states, Washington will destroy life on earth.

I believe this is a tactic to prove a point by the Russians.
However, I think I know a certain official who would love to bow down to Putin and use a pen and phone to remove the nukes just to satisfy an insane leader....
Ground-launched cruise missiles (GLCM) and their truck-like launch vehicles were employed at bases in Europe; they were withdrawn from service to comply with the 1987 Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty. Many of the anti-ship versions were converted into TLAMs at the end of the Cold War.
BGM-109A Tomahawk Land Attack Missile – Nuclear (TLAM-A) with a W80 thermonuclear weapon. Retired from service sometime between 2010 and 2013
The U.S. Nuclear Weapons Council has selected the W80-1 thermonuclear warhead for the Air Force’s new nuclear cruise missile (Long-Range Standoff, LRSO) scheduled for deployment in 2027.

The collapse of the US seems to be the only thing what can save us...

What do you think would happen to the US should the federal government collapse? What impact do you think it would have?

On time, it would at least prevent the destruction of our planet.
Seeing fractures are starting to appear because of the disastrous foreign policies of the US lately, we can still hope that in time the backing for the crazies in Washington dissolves.
First we had France and Germany blocking US war plans in the Ukraine, and now one after another defies the US by joining China-led international development bank.
Britain, Singapore, India, New Zealand, France, Germany, Italy and Australia (The Netherlands is also looking into it).

With more and more countries now wanting to do trade outside the Dollar, the Petrodollar is going to end.
And with the end of the Petrodollar, it will be the end of US sole World hegemon ambitions...and we will end up with a World with several World powers; US, China, Russia and the EU.
