I agree. They need some sort of protection.

This is history they are destroying, regardless if some agree with what the historical artifacts say/represent or not.

Monasteries in every culture are known to preserve artifacts and writings. Museums and monasteries need to be protected from people who want to destroy them. Simple as that.
