Maybe this video creates more questions than it answers, but if after you view it and think about it, you still dogmatically hold to the opinion that our universe had no help with it's fine tuning to support life. Maybe you should ask of yourself a question that requires you to be totally and brutally intellectually honest with yourself.

WHY ?

The Fine Tuning Of The Universe

Not this nonsense again. Debunked here:

If the Universe was fine tuned, why is everything so unclear?

whats more amazing to me than what the video is saying..
is that people have figured this out!!!! WOW

So "this" science is nonsense.
Just ignore the quoted scientists too, I guess.

OK Then

Very nice little video, thanks for sharing!

I have held for some years now that the only intellectually honest position a person can hold, in light of what is now known, is that of curious, seeking, open-minded agnosticism with a tendency towards optimism that the establishment of design is a 'good thing' . It should be scientifically embraced, in terms of beginning studies of consciousness in order to work towards an understanding of the interaction between individual awareness, our perceptions of the Universe, and ultimately our ability to establish connection with the clearly careful, 'emotionally involved' infinite 'super-intellect.

Intellectual honesty. Simple but powerful.

OMG constants are constants DUH !!!

Run for the hills grab your circles quick before the constant PI which has infinite tuning (ie it has an infinite number of decimal places) changes a little.

pathetic ignorance of science (but more and more common on ATS these days).

If we can exist and thrive in a universe, it is naturally going to seem fine tuned to us.

See: anthropic principle.

The video seems to skim over the possibility that it happened by chance and quickly push us in the direction that it was designed ,bit of an agenda going on there.

If the universe existed in a way that it could not support life we would not exist in order to observe it so yes we may have gotten very lucky it's not that far fetched ,multiverse's could exist and it's not sensible to ignore the possibility, and for all we know the universe has begun and ended an endless amount of times already before this one.

No matter what the universe looked like it if we were there to observe it then it would still look like it was designed.

hmmm is not possible that some one or some thing billons of years ago made the universe when the old one was dying and life started all over again and in some billons of years from now some one or some thing will make another universe but only when some one or some thing is able to understand every thing as so every think can be made again when this well our universe is fading away . hmmm just a fort sorry about the spelling .

The structure of our universe is not determined by those numbers. Those numbers are determined by the structure of the universe.

To say that if these numbers were off we'd have a completely different universe is a subtle tautology. Yes, if the universe was different, it would be different. No brain-power is involved in concluding this.

Also life evolved to fit the universe/earth. So of course it looks like life was made to fit it. Because life evolved to fit it!!

I have no idea how people fall for such craziness.....

Thats the cosmological constant at play. The question is did something fine tune the numbers or did the numbers fine tune themselves?

Sure evolution is fine tuning in itself. I also found the video to be rather narrow minded in how it was looking at things.

OH REALLY !

That's a very convenient line of thought, but is it intellectually honest ?

Based on the odds that happen at every level from cosmology to abiogenesis to the theory that every single mammal unique group on the planet evolved into "two" different species male and female in absolutely perfect synchronism, so that they all split with perfect timing going from asexual to sexual to propagate themselves.

Indeed

The universe does seem to be fine-tuned for life (key word "seem"), I don't see how anyone could argue this point. BUT, this fine-tuning does not in any way point to any particular god or gods being the true God of creation. To think that this fine-tuning points toward your (not directed at the OP) personal god is an example of confirmation bias.

For all we know the universe/multiverse was never created but has always existed in one way or another. Energy cannot be created or destroyed, this implies that the energy that makes up our universe has ALWAYS existed. No creation needed, only infinite "being".

Hmmm...Did you link the wrong video, perhaps? Because the one in the OP does not show any 'scientific evidence' of the universe being 'fine-tuned' or of a creator.

In fact, the universe as we know it is quite chaotic and anything but "fine-tuned".

Yes.

Based on the odds that happen at every level from cosmology to abiogenesis to the theory that every single mammal unique group on the planet evolved into "two" different species male and female in absolutely perfect synchronism, so that they all split with perfect timing going from asexual to sexual to propagate themselves.

And there you have it folks....Male and female are different species...This is a perfect example of the scientific ignorance and denial embraced by those who incorrectly claim this or that to 'prove' the existence of a creator.

Unbelievable.

Thank God (pun intended) that at least some of us have more intelligence than this, otherwise we'd still be living in caves.

Sorry I used the wrong word, the correct wording should have been "genders", I choose to use that other word in a hyperbolic sense but then you are smart enough to know what the point is anyway.

And that is something most evolutionists don't talk about, the genders of the various species that were evolving had to have perfect timing.
A question is when they were evolving from asexual into sexual over millions of years, how were they producing ?
Or did they swing both ways ?
Maybe they were bi-sexual asexuals ?
