That's a bit disingenuous. The Roman Empire hasn't existed for almost 2000 years. Most of the people in charge of current Russia worked for the government under the USSR. Caesar isn't exactly alive to comment on modern Italy but Gorbachev has no issue commenting on modern Russia.

The name and government type may have changed but the players remain the same. That's why Russia isn't absolved of the sins of the USSR. Admit it. If the US became a democratic monarchy with Romney as king and the same Congress we have now you'd still judge them based on the actions of the current US.

Not to say Russia is a saintly country by no means….But Russia at least somewhat admitted its errors; so Russia actually gave up their empire, on the other hand it takes a tree trunk to get some Americans, such as the GOP and conservative types (save Ron Paul) to admit America has done much wrong in this world, all the way from slavery and the Native American genocide to today’s Iraq war that caused millions of lives.

The US has also sometimes done restraint but more often than not has played on the surface the good guy but in reality underneath has been the bad guy.

They operate on the deception principle.

Who is working in the Rada now that was back when it was the USSR?
Please, I want to hear this. Just because some of them are oligarchs,does not mean they are working for the government,more likely just working for themselves is all,we have them here too.

Russia had 111 billionaires and 140 million population
does that not mean USA has higher ratio of billionaire : people then Russia ?

Russia 0.79
