I was very well paid, once I rose through the ranks and got an agent. Some clubs paid better than others, but corporate gigs and political fundraisers paid extremely well, even by today's standards. With Freud its pretty well known. I think its usually stated as "all his Major work". Once I heard that, it kind of made sense. He really just comes off as someone babbling. If I had recorded all my conversations with my friends back in the day, I could have came up with the equivalent of Psychoanalysis. He did have some good insights and wasn't all bad. Jung might be more your speed.
