In several north western European countries glyphosate can be applied before crop harvest for weed control, to enhance ripening on non-determinate crops to reduce crop losses, and to help manage determinate crops in wet seasons. Different countries have different recommendations for crops but the common factor is that the bulk grain sample must have dried to a maximum of 30% moisture content. At this point it is physiologically mature and the grain is filled, so glyphosate will not be translocated into the grain from the plant. Growers are recommended to use the lowest appropriate recommended dose for their target use.

Roundup Is Dumped On Crops Right BEFORE Harvest … to Save a Buck Monsanto’s Roundup herbicide (technically known as “glyphosate”) has been linked to many diseases. However, farmers appear to be dumping it on crops right before harvest.

Specifically, Monsanto International published a paper in 2010 touting the application of Roundup to kill crops right before harvest, in order to dry out the crops in advance and produce a more uniform and earlier harvest (starting on page 28)

Spring is just around the corner, with all the bright minds here on ATS with many entrepreneurs, there are opportunities for the agriculture minded sector. Since so many people are anti-GMO/Monsanto and even if not, there are opportunities to create and expand local food promotion program (LFPP), Farmers Market Promotion Program (FMPP) with financial grants from the Federal government. I am hoping that people will be able to effectively use these sources to assist in growing healthy foods minus the glyphosate (Roundup) and show communities they can have healthy foods that aren't controversial in the least about the growing process from heirloom seeds to hay bale gardening or hydroponics. Expressing your ideas through food production is a great humanitarian effort that we can all expand on and maybe learn something in the process.

We each have an obligation to un-ass our armchairs and do something if we are able and hopefully, willing. Many are inhibited by finances so here are some potential opportunities for the so inclined. If not this year, maybe next year.

Oh yeah...sell your soul. Get a a Gov't grant! Eff them I say! If I can plant seeds and sustain myself and hopefully sell the surplus at a profit, then I am good to go. I pay the taxes on the profit and the freakin' Gov't can just butt the eff out!

The money is allocated and will be awarded. I don't know about getting a non-profit organization together but it can't be impossible because there are thousands out there. If I knew how, I would do it. Maybe I'll look into it. I have friends that would also help.

Non profits org's require a lot of work to start and maintain.
