so this is some of the kind of talk russians are having about the current situations on their social media, used google translate. idk what this has to offer but it givfes an idea of how things are being seen there

"Plan violent suppression of Russia in the West calls for direct military intervention in the civil war in Ukraine, Senior Fellow Brookings Institution in Washington Constance Shteltsenmyuller urges Germany to send troops to Ukraine together with the United States to "make war with Russia horrible." "The war has returned to Europe, - quotes Shteltsenmyuller "Politnavigator." - Share continent with modern Russia, Europe must now ". Shteltsenmyuller believes that Germany should not believe in the longevity of the Minsk Agreement, and calls for "at least, to send to Ukraine instructors and surveillance and detection." "We Europeans have enjoyed the benefits of a very long world - says German expert from Washington. - If we do not want to stop Russia by force of arms, we must use all measures of influence to stop the fragmentation of its Ukraine. If you fail to find himself on the battlefield. " Calls for direct military intervention in the civil war in the Ukraine in the West are increasingly heard. Recall the other day an American Major General Robert Scales stock live channel Fox News actually called "kill the Russian." Answering the question of the leader of what it means to send three thousand American soldiers and equipment in Eastern Europe, he said: "The only way the US can influence what is happening in the region and to change the situation is to start killing Russian. Kill as many Russian that even Russian media could not hide the fact that Russian return home in coffins. Another six months ago to imagine that officials in the US and Europe could afford to publicly express such thoughts, it was very difficult. However, the degree of anti-Russian rhetoric is constantly increasing. And now for the UK was the main opponent of Russia, not Islamic terrorists, as before. And the United States, which used to unambiguously stated reluctance to intervene in a civil war in Ukraine now every now and then threaten the start of the supply of lethal weapons the army of "independence." The question arises: what is behind the harsh statements of Western politicians and political scientists about Russia? Whether they are preparing public opinion for direct military intervention of NATO in our country? - Aggressive statements against Russia say that American society has enough influential political and intellectual forces that set out to use the Ukrainian crisis for the final and resolute decision "Russian question". - The head of the Center for Political Studies, Institute of Economics, Head of Department of International Relations, Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Federation Boris Shmelev. - Today, Russia and China are perhaps the last country capable of resisting the policy of world hegemony pursued by Washington. We must understand that after the collapse of the USSR the West began the process of establishing control over the Soviet "geopolitical legacy." And to a large extent this is possible. The US and its allies gradually ousted from the former Russian zone of its influence in the so-called Third World, in Central and Eastern Europe, the former Soviet republics. Begins a new stage of this policy - an attempt to establish full control already directly above the Russia. It is necessary to take into account the fact that in recent decades has formed the world's financial capital with the center in Washington and London. He leads a course on reformatting the entire world political space "for themselves." He needs unification of economic and political conditions in the world at the same time weakening the sovereignty of all nations. Russia stands in his way. Roughly speaking, a dislike of the West in our country there is nothing personal, just business. In this sense, the Ukrainian crisis - a very convenient excuse, including by means of an escalation of the military conflict to achieve this goal. "SP": - That is, can reach directly the armed conflict between Russia and NATO? - I do not think that Ukraine will be officially entered NATO troops. But a significant increase in the hybrid wars already unleashed the West against Russia, can wait. In addition, Washington, still, is betting that by means of sanctions dislocate the Russian economy, cause a social explosion, thus replacing the current Russian government to fully pro-American . It should be understood that in the US there are practically no more or less influential political forces acting in support of Russia, or at least calling for achieving sensible compromise on our country. America headed for the violent suppression of Russia. This is a serious danger. US not retreating, will pursue its policy of methodically over time. In all this situation the United States in addition to its reputation as a world hegemon does not risk serious. But Russia risks a lot. Of course, the United States wants to draw as much as possible in this confrontation and Europe, primarily Germany - the economic leader of the Old World. It would seem, Minsk agreement executed. And Europe is interested in this. However, Washington will take advantage of the first opportunity to re-inflate the civil war in Ukraine. Our business - to understand the present state of things, to prepare for a new round of confrontation with the West. "SP": - What will happen if Russia still dare to take a firm stance on the change of the current anti-Russian power in Ukraine? - the West will not allow the change of the current regime in Kiev pro. He will oppose it in every way possible. Even if we assume that Kiev as a result of another military campaign will be taken militias, the Ukrainian government will settle in Lviv. And then the West will go a massive flow of weapons, military specialists, perhaps in the case will be thrown into military aircraft of NATO. I think that this understanding was the main reason why Russia went to the first, and second Minsk Agreement. "SP": - But will not it end up that clash with the West will still happen, but not in Central and Western Ukraine, as in the Donbass? - can not rule that out. Including the fact that the financial and economic aid, which now obtains Kiev, will go far to solve economic problems. Many Ukrainian politicians have openly said that Western money will go exactly on rearmament, to strengthen it. Therefore, when the militia say that in the coming months may begin the resumption of active hostilities, they are close to the truth. I think that in such a situation, Russia would be beneficial to the introduction of the joint peacekeeping forces, which would have divided the Ukrainian military and militias. There is yet possible to find a mutually acceptable formula. For example, the Donbass would suit the introduction of peacekeepers from Belarus and Kazakhstan. "SP": - But the US is interested in strengthening confrontation probably try to prevent entry of peacekeepers? - Yes. Yet Russia may try to play on the contradictions between Western countries, having achieved entry to Ukraine joint peacekeeping force. - The last harsh statements about Russia - this is certainly an alarming sign - the director of the Center for Strategic conditions Ivan Konovalov. - They show that Washington "hawks" are increasingly beginning to call the tune in the political arena. Then, as before, the main violin

That`s about right it seems.

Ukraine isn`t again upholding on the second Minsk agreement.

Ukrainian forces opened fire on Donetsk Republic 34 times over 24 hours — DPR

The hawks aren`t going to stop so it seems...expect tactical nukes to start flying when Russia get threatened, it may take a few years yet, but with the hawks wanting nothing else as war with Russia, it will most likely end up that way...

...a bunch of lunatics are now at the helm in the US !

Stratfor report indicates America is working on a scenario of partitioning of Russia

The main mistake the EU, and US military is making is the same one that Napoleon and Hitler made.

So far they are sticking to the play book. Including talking peace with Russia (Minsk) while preparing for war, just like Hitler and Stalin did over Poland before hostilities actually broke out in WWII.

And Putin (who learned from history) is playing it real cool, letting the West come alll the way in, stretching that thin supply line ever thinner, all the way back to US soil.

The end result (open warfare) is what the West hopes to avoid. They just want Russia to submit like all the rest of the nations like Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria and Iran haven't done.

Thats the other mistake NATO has seemingly overlooked. In WWII Hitler was pushing for dominance of the Middle East oil fields and Africa, too. Then he opened the Russian Front.

Morons. Prideful, greedy morons.

Actually their strategy of waiting while NATO encroaches has historical precedence. They been here before, twice.

Which side tries to defuse the things ?

Russia invites NATO Members to Security Conference: Experts warn about Risk of unwanted Nuclear War

Nuclear weapons become useless if you don`t dare to use them.

The Soviet Union had a nuclear cruise missile directed at the Bay of Pigs in `61 which they would have used to wipe out the American landing forces we now know.

Definitely not the side claiming nukes are useless if you don't actually use them. There was only ever one time to use nukes, and that was when nobody else had them. That window of opprtunity is long gone and any nation considering a first strike in this era needs ruining.

Dr. PCR keeps warning about it in the clearest manner he can, but I`m afraid it will be directed at too many deaf ears..

CNN Is Beating the Drums of War — Paul Craig Roberts

Washington’s propaganda attack on Russia and Vladimir Putin is like Washington’s attack on Afghanistan and Osama bin Laden, Iraq and Saddam Hussein, Libya and Gaddafi. Does this mean that Washington intends to attack Russia in a pre-emptive nuclear strike?

If so, it means the end of the world. Clearly, the threat to the United States and the entire world resides in Washington and not in Moscow. The threat is the crazed neoconservative ideology of US world hegemony supported by the unbridled greed of American corporations to control the resources of the world.

Putin understands the seriousness of the situation and is working hard to diffuse it, but Washington has made it impossible to diffuse. Washington’s price is that Putin must hand over Crimea and the Russian Black Sea naval base, abandon the Russian populations in southern and eastern Ukraine, and accept NATO military bases in Ukraine. Washington’s demand is a demand for Russia’s pre-emptive surrender.

A cruise missile in 1961? Sure why not, it's the internet.

4. On October 27, the most dangerous day of the Cuban Missile Crisis, the Soviets actually deployed nuclear weapons capable of destroying US naval bases. In the early morning hours of October 27, the Soviets deployed nuclear cruise missiles within 15 miles of the US naval base at Guantanamo Bay. Kennedy had no idea.

Cruise missile technology? They were conventional missiles of the time. I think there was some literary leeway in the article.

That's so weird. The only nation that seems to be "Encroaching" on any other nation's territory is Russia, into Ukraine.

Not a single NATO boot has stepped over the Russian border. Are military exercises and posturing happening? You bet. Is that encroaching on territory? No.

Yet, there seems to be Russian soldiers coming home from Ukraine in body bags. How did they get there, I wonder? Vacationing? Heh.

If (big if) nukes start flying, I guarantee you that it will be Russia who pushes that button first. Then what side will you stand with?

At that time they already put the first man in space and they didn`t have cruise missiles ?

This place used to be about denying ignorance.

Air Power Australia

Cruise missile designers started developing technology after 1945, from much the same baseline as Western designers, and with similar imperatives. These were to provide bombers with standoff weapons allowing them to launch from outside the defensive coverage of an opponent. By the mid 1950s Soviet imperatives and design strategies began to diverge strongly from their NATO opponents, resulting in a great many designs which had and still have no Western equivalents.

Most of tech used today was developed in 40's, 50's and 60's.

Give it up RG.

The use of the words "cruise missile" has been justified.

Comparing capability doesn't change the definition.

I gave you a star for your original comment, but BAA has shown me the error in my (our) thinking.

Really? Better look at a map

Those are all our bases around the world. There is no Russian bases around us I might add. That tells you more than anything who is the aggressor here.

Oh and yeah,we already had designs on what we were going to do with Crimea's port when we had Ukraine in our pocket. We would make them sell it to us and take it away from Ukraine, even though Russia had paid for its use. Follow this post for the info: www.abovetopsecret.com...

So we have to make others look like the bad guy to cover our own tracks in this. We are the bad guy anytime we are backing neo nazi groups. I don't care what the other guy is doing, we don't belong doing it. It is that simple. Otherwise why did we even bother to go into WW2 at all?

Here is another map showing how peaceful we are, just for fun:
