I'm from Canada, so pardon my ignorance, does the whole chain of restaurants do this?

I'd like to see all businesses do this. It'd be nice for their employees to be able to spend time with their families, Christian or not.

I was not happy about waiting until noon to buy beer. I stopped at the store and threw a six-pack on the counter.
I was told that no sale could happen until noon. It was 11:55. I had to stand there for 5 minutes before a transaction could be made. Silly as hell.
I've read the Bible. It says nothing about waiting until noon to buy beer on Sundays.

Never underestimate the power of chicken nuggets

In the UK shops over a certain square footage have to shut at 4pm but other shops are allowed to stay open on sundays.

I have never understood what god had against supermarkets.

I checked the bible and found nothing to substansiate this.

Friday at sundown until Saturday at sundown was the biblical Sabbath...

Christianity changed it to sunday so they wouldn't be considered "judaizers", which is basically living as the jews did...

Christ most definitely observed a Friday to Saturday Sabbath

The guy I wanted to sell me beer is a Hindu. He shouldn't be bound by law to not work on Sunday. That's against his freedom of religion. That being said, this is the only Sabbath I feel compelled to honor.

That is the point of it... the sunday Sabbath was established through the roman church who borrowed several ideas from paganism

Sunday is the FIRST day of the week, not the last...

It commemorates the beginning just as the sun rises at "the beginning" of day...
