Just cracked a homebrew batch of ginger beer and I always remember that it's a different sensation than shop bought alcohol.

Far more spacey and enjoyable.

I cannot decided if it's all in my head or thatthere's a difference.

I have never seen anyone get angry drinking home brew.

You could be right there, I saw myself looking at my missus a moment ago and it nearly kicked off.

Luckily I gave myself a good talking to and it all turned out right in the end.

Thats what I was trying to say, it seems that home brew even on company has a different effect, more happy and giggly than shop bought beer.

I think this batch is a little stronger than I intended as well.

Its because us homebrewers add a little bit of love to each batch.
I like to tell folks that "There is a little bit of me in every mouthful"

Also its probably:
Additive free,
Stronger in alcohol,
Costs less to produce than the bottle it came in.
Freakin' delicious.

Yes it may be all in your head Nonspecific, but hey! that's where you live!
Enjoy!

My thoughts exactly. I have been caring for this batch like a new mother does a baby.

Checking it's breathing, making sure its warm, but not too warm. nuturing the little bad boy.

It's just so much better.

Plan ahead then good sir, If you wish to get drunk today you need to make homebrew 2 weeks ago.

That really is not rocket science.

So true, it really does pay back the care and attention, and you are right about it being better in company, there is no comparison of a batch of carefully crafted nectar over a mass produced homogenous corporate offering.

Its like cooking a simple but delicious fresh lunch for a loved one compared to serving them a microwaved ready meal.

Your observation on checking its breathing is spot on.....lol
Have you ever been listening to the airlock bubble at night when its quiet, and not hearing anything for ages and holding your own breath while listening until it belches forth again. I can hear my brews breath at night even several rooms away.
All part of the fun of creatiion!

All Hail to Home Brewing! Burp Burp Burp! LOL!! You already know that the 'spacey' is the Hops, right?
That's why I like Beer better than straight liquor. I like straight liquor as well, don't get Me wrong, but I mean, I like the Spacey plus the alcohol. Much better results. Any way I ramble.

My Mom and Dad told Me while I was growing up, (along the Mississippi River around Moline IL.) I was in My early teens, That the Indians In our general area, back in the day, used to Smoke Hops as well as their Ceremonial Weed! That's all. Carry on.

No hops in this home brew!

did you know thats were the phrase Hopping mad came from? Hop pickers would go insane because if I remember rightly hops are of the same family as cannabis?

I had a hop plant in my garden and my cats used to roll around it sniffing and then go mental.
