Any one else find it interesting snap drills are occurring when putin is supposedly missing?

I am nervous about this sudden "Show of force" when the President is MIA.

Normally, it'd just be "meh" to more drills and chest-thumping, imo.

But in this case, and the sudden call up.

No better way to get your boys ready to roll, then to call up a drill / etc. and then suddenly command them to head off to xyz country for an assault.

Possibly but if he wasn't ''missing'' it wouldn't be such a big deal. It could also be in response to the mobilisation by the US or general reactive game play ''we can do that too'' politics.

we may have lost one of our greatest members.

Talk about rampant speculation and rumors...or do you have data for this? Did he state he was packing up his toys and going home?

ahhh, and if i had tweeted that ATS member closes with Aloa "may" have left after manager says might be time to move on.

i think this fits quite snuggly in with the way things are rolling along, its just a different plot line.

Something else we should be thinking about is what happens next? If Putin doesn't show again today, how long will other world leaders sit quietly waiting for him to reappear?

Surely they'll have to start wondering if he's still in charge, and if not, what the plans are of the new people running the show. Russia is a serious military power. This should be all over MSM.

Yes, I do. Something is up man.

Just old cold war tit for tat maneuvers. There was the announcement of an armored column parading around Europe so they had to react with their own maneuver. Any of the hardliners would order something like that, it is no proof Putin ordered it yet.

That type of action, snap drills, also has the ability of sending a message -

"Don't mess with us right now".

You're right, I am not convinced at all that Putin commanded the northern fleet...yet.. I'm really wondering why he hasn't been seen at this meeting scheduled today, yet..

Well -
A - the US is not mobilizing.
B - As Russia has stated in the past, military maneuvers inside European nations are of no concern to Russia, just as Russian military maneuvers inside Russian borders are of on one else concern. They don't get it both ways.
C - The US is NOT the only military entity sending / moving forces around in Europe / NATO.
D - When complaints are made about Us military while there is absolutely no other mention about other nationalities forces, then the complaint is political and nothing more.

Question big brains .....How would the Russian people respond to a coup? I would imagine they all love this guy and what he is about. Are Russian people allowed to have guns or are they disarmed ? As SO stated, VP should have been seen by now. If it was a surgery , child birth , or illness, I think the gov there would want to calm down the people. I know the Russian people are some of the fiercest fighters on the planet and fearless in a fight. I would not expect a Coup to go over so easily with the people of Russia, let alone the soldiers loyal to there elected pres. I think if there was a coup it is probably very unstable at the moment. I believe today will be a big day on ATS. Come on Vladdy spill the beans on 911 on a 90 foot TV projector to the entire World's press please !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well didnt this thread really kick off! and a social experiment, couldnt half pick it though with those info care packages being dropped in and whipped up,T&C violation at that, funny to see all the members drunk on hysteria lapping it up.

anyway so where are we at, well everyones just standing around waiting for the next news flash while contemplating rumour based scenarios, besides a few that are doing some research and we may have lost one of our greatest members.
I hope this bull# game was worth it.

Yeah whatever.

But where is Putin?????

lol, mate at the end of the day he does what he wants to do, he doesnt owe you a damn email of his agenda.
and by the way, that member had been here for around a decade so "yeah what ever" is a telling installment of the new ATS generation i guess.

Im pretty sure Phage can handle a little conflict of opinion, regardless of who it comes from, after all he has engaged in many over 10 years.

Of course Phage can handle himself.

I agree with others though that he shouldn't be criticised, put down or told to leave for his opinions on the veracity of sources. They are valid points he has made, and as a member here, his opinions are as good as anyone else's.

My whatever comment and subsequent where is Putin was a hint to get back on topic, and I am not a new ATS generation, just lost my old account email and password after changing jobs.

It isn't like this thread is on-topic anyway. It's all over the place.

He does owe his country an email of his agenda though...why do they not see him? Where are all the pro-Russians on this thread...its all gone quiet.

Any appearance of Putin would definitely alleviate some concerns, and i do find the silence from some pro-Russian posters here quite odd.

Just a got a blurb a couple minutes ago on the breaking news app on my phone from Reuters a few minutes ago saying Putin has delayed a scheduled trip to Kazakhstan which was supposed to happen last week to March 20th. Though im not seeing it on Reuters twitter that it linked to.

I would wager world leaders have an idea of whats going on and who might emerge if there is an actual coup / change in power structure.

Looking at it from a political point of view the questions will be can we work with this person, what are this persons view points on the various subject matters etc.

I think they will wait as long as possible before commenting on it. Tipping their hand could have unintended consequences.

My opinion:

Putin is alive, sequestered among staunch loyalists, fending off a soft-coup of FSB/Oligarchs who are irritated with the clear downward direction of Russia. Since he hasn't been seen, it's still ongoing.

Assuming for a moment you are correct . Do you think the people behind the coup knew they were going to fail and they wished to be remembered as having opposed Putin?

I meant Phage can fight his own battles, then playerone said he had gone (meaning Phage) so I turned Player1s comments around to look like he meant Putin and therefore mocking his position on social media.

Jeez if you have to explain it....

Anyway, if he shows up today, will this thread be PUT IN the hoax bin.

If a power play was underway in Russia would we not expect Putin to do all he could to let everyone know the situation is under control and that he is still in power and in charge?

Staying out of the lime light leads me to think something is occurring.

That would mean waking our own "Dear leader" from his beauty rest, to get him to do something.

If he didn't automatically and instinctively grab his golf clubs and head to the tee.
