I think the fire is under control to be honest. Before the light's "went off", all that could be seen was smoke, and no blaze or sign of blaze. It could be that the blaze has lost strength.

ah kk. So the position hasn't changed. Many lights are out that were on in the archives before the blaze, and the glow from the monastery isn't showing well on that feed, or it's out and my live feed isn't live.

Might be ISIS sickos jumping on all the media coverage.

Looking at the live feed of the fire it's only really damaged the top of the tower, but it's hard to see.
It looks like it's melted a lot of the scaffolding at the back, which is now leaning out and unstable.

All the wood planks are gone, but the building itself looks okay. I think it's all stone under there, so hopefully the fire has only destroyed the scaffolding platforms and nothing else.

Sorry for the confusion. I was confused between the Kremlin and the Novodevichy Convent itself. Now I see what people meant during the whole fire confusion! So it's not the Kremlin that has it's lights off, it's the Convent!

I'm skeptical of there being a coup to oust Putin. I suppose it could happen, especially since his opposition leader was murdered a couple weeks ago. The plunging ruble probably hasn't helped much. However as fun as rumors may be to investigate we can't take them at face value. I've heard rumors from his ice skater girlfriend giving birth in Switzerland, to him being assassinated. I suppose we'll find out soon enough.

I'm not sure if there being a coup is a good or bad thing in this case... Although I don't really care for Putin's policies I will say at least he has the guts to stand up to the west.
