There is a reality TV show here in the US about a family of homesteaders that live a rual lifestyle in Alaska. They were needing to improve on their generator situation and had one of those old engines sitting exposed in the AK elements unused for 20 or so years.

Got an old timer to tinker with it, put some fresh fuel in it and the damn thing fired right up.

You can't kill them.

agreed almost bombproof.
20 or so years ago I was out in the nile delta. I watched
a farmer start an av1 lister up by palming the flywheel.
chug chug and irrigation commenced.
I called him 3 teeth for the short duration I was in the area.

just to add I forgot that I possess another power egg. 4ltr perkins 4236, clean as a whistle.
had it checked on emissions and the mot tech informed me it was cleaner than most
cars he tests.

Make a move on what through? The best defense is not to play out that particular scenario simply because nobody wins! The stone age is bleak, the stone age is not orange.

I mean we need to figure out what we can do if the sun gets too hot for humans

maybe underwater mars ...

that is what I meant

it is ok to live now
can u imagine one day people will face this issue I am lucky I live now

human race will face this issue one day

and by keeping making on babies we are directly ressponsible for them existing in that type of situation yet we never gave them a solution

yuck I don't want to do that
I don't want my grate g g g g g g g g kids to burn on earth when the sun swolows them and they have no option to escape

that is torture !!!!

we can not
I will not have kids until I see we act cevilized and I prefer not to have them

as much as I love children I don't trust other kids and other patents

I know I will bring my child up in that mentality that we are precisios and we meed to focus here to protect each othe but I know many will not

I agree with u million percent
but I know even if we all ran on solar there will be someone who can come and jack a bomb on that
it is like there is no way out
the only way out
is to trust eachother if smt like that happened but because 95% of people are not ready for such situation we are in very big trouble[

Ive got two little ones and to be quite frank the world i was born in to in the 1970s is a completely different kettle of fish as to the world i brought them into, or my Mrs brought them into to be more precise.

Simple fact is when you settle down in a relationship in your 20s kids will begin to seem like a good idea which is nothing more than us Humans carrying out our biological imperative, stands to reason.

What i dont agree with however is family's that produce 4-6(or even more) children that they cannot care for or support. Even animals are not so stupid enough as to produce more siblings than they can care for. Simple fact is most eat the week ones so the rest may survive, that's rather synonymous with the society in which we live these-days but hardly something any truly sentient spices should aspire towards.

u know like I can tell u right now if ur kids were left to my hands u can sleep safely

I would say 99.99% people on ats are sensible and rational

I wished I could take care of everybody in a disaster event but I simply can't

I remember as a kid our schools had compulsory survival skills exercises

in fact every year so we don't forget(scouts
)

are u going to teach survival skills to ur kids or u think we can safely say I am just worrying to much

like I have no clue what the rest of the world is thinking

& a few bottles of soda also.

The US could fortify their infrastructure very cheaply compared to how much we waste on...everything else. I wonder if other countries are all in the same boat.
