Bleeding Heart Liberal, Hard Core Catholic

I've been reading ATS for a long time, at first irritated when it was popping up all the time on my Google searches. I wanted a "real" source. Since then, I have found that the facts and ideas on ATS, while sometimes loopy or grumpy, are unvarnished and uncensored, which is a welcome alternative to the sappy half truths of mainstream media.

I am politically liberal, and think capitalism is being used as an excuse to ignore and eliminate the poor. Gay marriage gives
Foster Children homes that weren't legally considered households before. Abortion is the result of neglecting, not empowering, single mothers with low incomes.

The Republicans will have us believe that they are protecting freedom. Balder dash. They just are paid to say that by the Kochs. Their great crime is ruining the environment and stomping on the poor.

The Democrats have us believe they are saving the world. They're obviously not. Their crime is depending on lawyers where morals would be a better solution.

As for religion, I am a Catholic. A tolerant Catholic. The great conspiracy I see in religion today is the perpetual forgetfulness that religion is by nature subversive. If religion caters to corporate needs, or bolsters up some dead ancien regime, then we need to shake things up
