One of the best cakes I ever made was a chocolate and beetrood cake, root vegatables are an underestimated cake base.

My son has the taste buds of a pregnant woman. I think we'll make him this for a birthday cake. The name alone got him jumping up and down!

You should try it before saying it's wrong.

Unavoidable, my previous line reminds the well known similarity between chocolate and some sexual practices.

During WW2 root vegatables were used and actually promoted by the coallition goverment as the sweetness of parsnips was a viable alternative to flour and sugar.

It became a trend again in posh nosh resteraunts a few years ago.

If you can have cheesecake why not potato cake?

CHEESE CAKE???

I like the idea of chocolate and mash potatoes

I like it that much that I started to study your recipe indepth whether I would be able to bake it myself.

how did you get the layering effect ??

makes me think you did not try it yourself - maybe you are only taste budd dreaming in your mind.

Oh thats not my cake lol.
Mine would be just a big mess of cake
.
My Mum normally makes it, I made it at Christmas and while lovely it didn't look good.
Oh and why would I put up a recipe I have not tried?.

please ask your mum how she created that layering effect and then tell me.

my guess is that she layered the mix with extra chocolate.

i must know this recipe, it seems easy enough even for me to make.

edit on 7-3-2015 by Sanssouci because: addition: lucky i'm invited to afternoon cake (extremely stronly hope it will be chocolate cake)

Like I said the pic is not my cake.
I don't think she even layers it.
I don't notice things like that it doesn't last long enough for me to notice.
