They don't need to win any war, they just need to secure and destroy the sites where Iran are spinning their centrifuges. Israel demolished Saddam's reactor and set him back decades, no need to conquer.

Whilst that raid on Saddams reactor was daring - it was a surprise attack on a single target

A raid against multiple targets located further from Israel and with the enemy awaiting your attack is an entirely more difficult challenge than the raid on the Osirak reactor in Iraq.

Not crazy at all.

Yahoo is a politician and maybe on the way out.

AIPAC will be here forever, like the cockroaches during the nuclear winter. Except very well healed cockroaches with lots of pull in DC.

The administration is simply making the distinction.

The only way Israel will attack Iran is if America is about to attack Iran. Without using nukes Israel doesn't stand a chance of defeating Iran on their own and Israel knows that.

Tell that to Egypt, Jordan and the other nations in the 6 day war. Don't underestimat Israel.

Uranium is extremely plentiful, it just takes effort to extract the useful isotopes.

Its as carefully tracked as the weapons made from the "spent fuel".

Here we have yet another curious "oddity" coming from the Obama White House.

It seems they are sending Susan Rice and Samantha Power to the upcoming AIPAC conference.

Susan just got through bashing and criticizing Israel's leader Netanyahu the other day.

Very puzzling strategies indeed.

There seems to be conflicts regarding the U.S./Iran discussions about nuclear weapons and such.

But what can anybody expect from a sloppy schlock outfit like the Obama Administration.

In a bid to ease soaring tensions with Israel over a potential Iran nuclear deal, the White House has decided against snubbing America’s leading pro-Israel lobby and will send both President Barack Obama’s national security adviser and UN ambassador to address its annual policy conference.

The American Israeli Public Affairs Committee announced Thursday that the Obama administration has confirmed that national security adviser Susan Rice and UN Ambassador Samantha Power will speak to its conference this weekend.

US officials had floated the idea of sending a non-Cabinet level official to show displeasure with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s upcoming speech to Congress in which he will argue against an Iran deal.

Rice’s selection came two days after an interview with Charlie Rose on PBS in which she faulted both Netanyahu and Republican Speaker of the House John Boehner, who extended an invitation to the prime minister to address Congress on Iran next week, for creating the current “destructive” tension between Washington and Jerusalem.

Maybe AIPAC should boycott and walk out on Susan Rice?

Are you a fing moran OP??

Not too long ago, it wad proven that even Mossad doesnt believe Iran has or ever will have nuclear weapons.
Also... Did you fail to see how Israeli zionist settlers are now also burning christian churches?

The zionists of Israel are a scourged and all need to be purged by fire. Once that happens you will automatically see peace in the middleeast

Maybe it is a conciliatory visit to atone for the indiscretions of our president?

lol

What indiscretions? When it comes to Benny Obama has nothing to apologize for if anyone should be apologizing it should be Benny.
balderdash. Sen obama made sure to go to israel when he was campaigning for pres. now all of a sudden thats a breech of protocol. the left, all of it, the dems; all of them are full of manure. thier principles and protests are a matter of political convenience; a transparent conceit. they are liars. and onlookers that swallow their bull are fools.

I assume that you mean depleted uranium which is simply the leftover ore from refinement which is stable and therefore not fissible. It is used in armor and high mass projectiles among other applications.

• Uranium is a relatively common metal, found in rocks and seawater. Economic concentrations of it are not uncommon.

• Its availability to supply world energy needs is great both geologically and because of the technology for its use.

• Quantities of mineral resources are greater than commonly perceived.

• The world's known uranium resources increased by at least one-quarter in the last decade due to increased mineral exploration.

Very high-grade ore (Canada) – 20% U 200,000 ppm U
High-grade ore – 2% U, 20,000 ppm U
Low-grade ore – 0.1% U, 1,000 ppm U
Very low-grade ore* (Namibia) – 0.01% U 100 ppm U
Granite 3-5 ppm U
Sedimentary rock 2-3 ppm U
Earth's continental crust (av) 2.8 ppm U
Seawater 0.003 ppm U

Supply of Uranium

"Spent fuel" is nuclear waste.

This is hype.

Where did Rice “bash” anybody?

She just went over the issue of the speech wasn’t within the usual protocol of the way things have been done.

www.timesofisrael.com...
“What has happened over the last several weeks, by virtue of the invitation that was issued by the speaker and the acceptance of it by Prime Minister Netanyahu, two weeks in advance of his election, is that on both sides there has now been injected a degree of partisanship which is not only unfortunate; it’s destructive of the fabric of the relationship,” she said. “The relationship between Israel as a country and the United States as a country has always been bipartisan,” Rice noted, emphasizing that keeping US-Israel ties free of local politics was in the best interest of both countries.

Spent fuel is what the bombs are made from. You are talking about the refinement process of ores to make fuel. Iran doesn't do that. Their fuel rods come from Russia. Thats the part thats carefully tracked. It can"t go "missing" without The IAEA knowing about it.

The refining of Uranium ore and production of fuel rods for reactors is a complex process. So ids bomb making. You can cut with the Iran gonna get a bomb ruse thats so well worn. It hasn't happened and won't.

Propaganda

I am just trying to correct a perceived misunderstanding. I have tried to scrub to the best of my ability any patronizing quips or unnecessarily obvious statements from this post.

Bombs are not made from spent fuel or depleted uranium, they are made out of explosives. That is, unless they are nuclear bombs in which case they are made from highly enriched uranium or plutonium (not a naturally occurring element, it is a product of fission and could conceivably be called spent fuel though that term is reserved for nuclear waste). I prefer the term 'synthesizing' to 'reprocessing'.

Acquiring uranium is easy, it is everywhere. They were given a present in that Russia supplied them with prerefined reactor grade uranium. Yes, if they refined that uranium, it would be noticed. But, they don't actually need that. An unaccountable refinement operation is what everyone is accusing them of building in secret.

The bomb itself is simple to make, it is the highly enriched uranium that is the hurdle which is why non-proliferation is focused almost exclusively on refining and synthesizing processes (such as centrifuges and extracting fuel cycle byproducts from reactors).

Who's everyone? What secret operations? Theres as yet no proof, only allegations.

They should have been done by now and mushroom clouds over Israel?

Meanwhile US indeed has used both nukes and Depleted Uranium in warfare.

So, we will just have to wait and see.

I am glad that I didn't scrub the reference to depleted uranium because it is a popular misconception that it is radioactive. What it is is a heavy metal and therefore poisonous.

I like both of your recently coined terms, 'nyet neutrality' and 'net neutered'.

Good stuff!

Even though its "depleted" its still Uranium and therefore, radioactive.

Otherwise they would call it something else.

That is just it though, the left over stable isotopes of ore is what is called 'depleted uranium'. Bananas are more radioactive.

I do agree that it is an unfortunate and misleading term.

Uranium is not "stable". Ore tailings are a cause of cancer at mine sites the world round. I'd search this for you but by now its obvious to me you are a disinfo type of poster.

Bananas are more radioactive.

More radioactive than what? Another myth. Any radioactive contamination is a potential hazard for people that ingest it. Potassium-40 is a different element than the Uranium family entirely.

The vast majority of the potassium found in bananas (and the rest of nature, for that matter) is the regular, stable form of the element. However, about 0.0117% of the potassium in nature is the unstable isotope potassium-40.

Bananas

This is off topic, sorry OP. Last response about radioactivity…

i wonder if that horse faced horse's ass lurch lookalike skerry kerry considered it a protocol breach when he went surrepitiously to france to negotiate with NVA representatives to find a way to undercut the U.S. in the vietnam war.
