So sad.

I was born in between the end of old "Star Trek" and before the "Next Generation" re-boot and so both series had an impact on my childhood/youth. Now slowly the baton is being passed as the old Trek cast sadly leave us.

Star Trek is a global phenomenon and rightly so. Whilst we have seen many of it's science fiction innovations become reality in such a short timespan the main message of the program is 'hope'. Hope that one day humanity will forget our petty squabbles and differences and go explore the galaxy.

I hope one day we will!

RIP Leonard Nimoy.

I don't usually cry with the loss of celebrities, couldn't help myself on this loss though. He was awesome in virtually every respect as an artist. The world is a sadder place without him. Loved all of his narration work. I will miss that voice.

Rest in peace Leonard Nimoy.

I find myself watching some of my fave episodes of Star Trek.

If Spock wasn't my favorite SF character, I'm not sure who would be...? A man of peace, but willing, and able, to fight as necessary. A warrior. A man of science, but who somehow had faith in the humanity/vulcanism around him.

A character of many parts.

Somehow appropriate, because Mr. Nimoy was also a man of many parts.

Journey well and long, Spock, son of Sarek, and Amanda. We'll miss you.

First star on the right, and straight on 'til morning.

I saw Mr. Nimoy speak once when I was still in high school. He seemed very human, an actor of conviction but no great repute, and was quite boring. I still will always love the original series though...

Very sorry to hear this and RIP Leonard!

Apparently he also had a healthy interest in UFOs (pic) and here he is describing a very strange UFO incident where an entire family witnessed a landed object on the road outside their farm in Mellen, Wisconsin on March 13th, 1975.

What a depressing thing to read being of the age that the original TV series was my church for many years.
I am going to miss the guy and yet I will always find him "Fascinating" to say the least. Take care my friend.

RIP Mr Spock you were one of my favorite alien beings I've watched on television in those days . It doesn't sound logical you leaving this earth not with the enterprise .. go where many have gone before..
