Well why are we dropping bombs on other countries if it's not happening here in the us? We hear that there is really no threat to the us to be invaded but we are still dropping bombs which do kill a lot of civilians in other countries. And most of the people that we drop bombs on are not a direct threat to the US.

Because it is a war for profit after all the biggest thing America exports now is death and the weapons of war.

It's amazing that only a generation or two after Vietnam--the war that basically all of America wanted the government to pull out of, the war that caused people to realize that the US was overstepping its bounds in the international community--a portion of the population allows the media to convince them that we need to swoop to the rescue of foreign people in a foreign country.

That said, you are demanding some reference for the acceptability of collateral damage and I did start it:

Book 019, Number 4321:
It is reported on the authority of Sa'b b. Jaththama that the Prophet of Allah (may peace be upon him), when asked about the women and children of the polytheists being killed during the night raid, said: They are from them.

Book 019, Number 4322:
It is narrated by Sa'b b. Jaththama that he said (to the Holy Prophet): Messenger of Allah, we kill the children of the polytheists during the night raids. He said: They are from them.

Book 019, Number 4323:
Sa'b b. Jaththama has narrated that the Prophet (may peace be upon him) asked: What about the children of polytheists killed by the cavalry during the night raid? He said: They are from them.

While I do not claim that the intentional killing of women and children is kosher for jihad , clearly unintentional killing of women and children had been accounted for and specifically absolved.

It will take me longer to find some specific references to explain why the unintentional killing of "good muslims" is also absolved.

I read it a few years after when I began to question the popular explanation for the violence as being by outliers and exceptions.
