I nominate "Dark Side of the Moon", by Pink Floyd

Our battle hymn could be "Highway to Hell", by AC/DC, since most everything found here is some form of heresy or another. Which is fine, don't get me wrong...

How about...
"We don't need no....education....."
"We don't need no....thought control...."

I was going to suggest the theme from Gilligans Island -

But this is MUCH better. Absolutely ... your suggestion nails it!

I think "In the Shadows" by The Rasmus would make a great theme song

.... "I'd rather kill myself than turn into their slave...." "I've been searching, I've been living for tomorrow all my life...."

or maybe "Crawling in the Dark" by Hoobastank

but if rock isn't representative of the ATS community, we might could use "Heard It Through the Grapevine" by Marvin Gaye.... or CCR....

Oh come on there is only one that really would apply and
that is the Theme from the Twilight Zone.

Twilight Zone: An area of ambiguity between two distinct states or conditions: a twilight zone between good and evil.

Dire Straits

The man's too big...the man's too STRONG!

Im just an ageing drummer boy
And in the wars I used to play
And Ive called the tune
To many a torture session
Now they say I am a war criminal
And Im fading away
Father please hear my confession

I have legalised robbery
Called it a belief
I have run with the money
And hid like a thief
I have re-written history
With my armies and my crooks
Invented memories
I did burn all the books
And I can still hear his laughter
And I can still hear his song
The mans too big
The mans too strong

Well I have tried to be meek
And I have tried to be mild
But I spat like a woman
And sulked like a child
I have lived behind walls
That have made me alone
Striven for peace
Which I have never known
And I can still hear his laughter
And I can still hear his song
The mans too big
The mans too strong

Well the sun rose on the courtyard
And they all did hear him say
you always were a judas
But I got you anyway
You may have got your silver
But I swear upon my life
Your sister gave me diamonds
And I gave them to your wife
Oh father please help me
For I have done wrong
The mans too big
The mans too strong

Cool post. I think Pink Flloyd has more that a few songs worthy of this bunch. Revolution by the Beatles is very fitting.

Mine would be one from Bob Marley

NATURAL MYSTIC

there's a natural mystic blowing through the air
if you listen carefully now you will hear
this could be the first trumpet, might as well be the last
many more will have to suffer
many more will have to die - don't ask me why

things are not the way they used to be
i won't tell you no lie
one and all have to face reality now
'tho i've tried to find the answer to all the questions they ask
'tho i know it's impossible to go living through the past
don't tell no lie

there's a natural mystic blowing through the air
can't keep them down
if you listen carefully now you will hear
----------------------------------------------------

Here's an excerp from REDEMPTION SONG
Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery;
None but ourselves can free our minds.
Have no fear for atomic energy,
'Cause none of them can stop the time.
How long shall they kill our prophets,
While we stand aside and look?
Some say it's just a part of it:
We've got to fulfil de book.

Gotta be John Lennon Gimme Some Truth

Im sick and tired of hearing things
From uptight, short-sighted, narrow-minded hypocritics
All I want is the truth
Just gimme some truth
Ive had enough of reading things
By neurotic, psychotic, pig-headed politicians
All I want is the truth
Just gimme some truth

i think 'new song' by howard jones is a good one...

Ive been waiting for so long
To come here now and sing this song
Dont be fooled by what you see
Dont be fooled by what you hear

This is a song to all my friends
They take the challenge to their hearts
Challenging preconceived ideas
Saying goodbye to long standing fears

Dont crack up
Bend your brain
See both sides
Throw off your mental chains

I dont wanna be hip and cool
I dont wanna play by the rules
Not under the thumb of the cynical few
Or laden down by the doom crew

I reckon, "Read about it" by Midnight Oil

The rich get richer, the poor get the picture
The bombs never hit you when you're down so low
Some got pollution, some revolution
There must be some solution but I just don't know
The bosses want decisions, the workers need ambitions
There won't be no collisions when they move so slow
Nothing ever happens, nothing really matters
No one ever tells me so what am I to know
You wouldn't read about it, read about it
Just another incredible scene, there's no doubt about it
Hammer and the sickle, the news is at a trickle
The commissars are fickle but the stockpile grows
Bombers keep acoming, engines softly humming
The stars and stripes are running for their own big show
Another little flare up, storm brewed in a tea cup
Imagine any mix up and the lot would go
Nothing ever happens...
You wouldn't read about it, read about it
One unjust ridiculous steal, ain't no doubt about it
You wouldn't read about it, read about it
Just another particular deal, there's no doubt about it

Do we need Official permission to pick the ATS theme song?
Who should we ask?

If anyone is serious about this, I can start compiling a list from the thread and setup a voting site. Maybe narrow it down to 3 or 4 finalist for a final vote.

iPeas in iPod
or
black eyed peas in iPod, though they don't have any songs that would be good to represent ATS

x-flies? the theme might be corny, buts its a start!

Destiny childs new song is good, lose my breath.

Frank Sintras strangers in the night!

I would choose, a song from Alice In Chains or Egnima.
