Here we've been wasting our time and money going to college to get a degree in hopes of getting a good job when all we needed to do was cut some heads off people!!!

Wouldn't ya know it?!?!?

They (IS) would need something to accomplish that. 90000 tweets a day is a little more than one tweet a second, which is unbelievable.

Either they have a bot tweeting or they have a ton of people tweeting on their behalf via their account.

Perhaps Obama can institute a new branch of the U.S. military:

-THE TWITTER CORPS
-The Blue Berets
-The Fighting Bluebirds

I think it is a good thing.

At the very least isis online presence should not go unchecked.

How is it that the ISIS account not get band. Twitter is a U.S. company in San Francisco.

90, 000 tweets a day should suggest so many banned accounts. That the term ISIS/ISIL IS.... would lose context or meaning to the person searching for such an account. i.e. there would be no names left for them to be recognized.

#SOMETHINGSMELLABIT

how do they manage to have this sort of immunity ?

Well if we judge the nsa capabilities by the size of their buildings and budget then anything is possible for them in the online realm.

I bet they claim that monitoring isis online is better than removing their capibilities.

Of coarse that would just be a lame excuse because the nsa also has all other forms of communication on lockdown and sending them back to pigion throwing would be best and likely save many gullible teens.

How about a little research and analysis with that post?

1. Like many countries and agencies don't already do this.
2. Show me the cost-benefit analysis.
3. Who says wars can't and shouldn't be fought on multiple fronts?
4. If ISIS is using it as a recruitment or terroristic tool, why not counter that? This is counter-terrorism after all.
5. Who do you think the demographic audience here is?
6. Do you read and understand the language to even know what's being said?
7. What's wrong with countering with another side of it?
8. Could there be some intel value?
9. Could there be some psychological benefits or operations possible?

Guess your right. Better to keep tabs on them.
But at the same time it feels like their being protected. Like they're already working for us.. the U.S..

Lame point of view from me I know.

battle against ISIS------ just give them jobs?

Please tell me that someone gave her '___'? They are cutting Christian's heads off, killing gays, killing children, shooting women in the head for wearing red coats, because they don't have jobs? That's right Obama! give them jobs! It has nothing to do with their twisted version of Wahhabism, or a subset of Islam.

She is the poster child of politically correct inadequacy.

The college graduates will be hopping flights to the middle east to get jobs, all they have to do is join the jihadists then get rewarded with US provided gainful employment they have no hope of finding in liberal America.

It can be argued this is a not so cleverly disguised Islamic extremist recruitment drive.
Does Obama even know what his minions are up to between golf tees?

The never ending battle against ISIS is taking a new turn.

Looks like the State Department is waging a Twitter War against ISIS's 90000 tweets per day.

They say its propaganda and they will fight fire with fire to the death !!

If this doesn't start WW3, I don't know what will.

U.S. State Department Is Going to Tweet ISIS to Death

The NY Times posted a story on the 16th saying that the administration is going into countermessaging to defeat ISIS propaganda. The Center for Strategic Counterterrorism Communications is going to use more than 350 State Department Twitter accounts, combining embassies, consulates, media hubs, bureaus and individuals, as well as similar accounts operated by the Pentagon, the Homeland Security Department and foreign allies to launch a Twitter attack on ISIS!

We’re going to tweet them to death!

ISIS sends 90,000 tweets a day so the government is facing an awesome challenge.

The administration is going to work out details of the campaign during the Obama summit on terrorism this week.

It's the War of the Words !!

This thread has been promoted on the ATS Twitter Feed with the following image:

OMG this is awesome! This is totally stop IS from beheading people, promoting child rape, kidnapping, and destroying villages. Yeah our government and their ever brilliant plans! [sarc]

Reminds me of Saturday Night Live Evening News with Seth Myers and Amy Poehler. I keep expecting half this crap to be a skit from them and I'm going to wake up from a nightmare. So far, not yet.
