Looks like things are heating up in the East again, (not that it ever cools down)

Looks like the police are stretched and the military have stepped in, although its timing is interesting as France and Egypt call for UN Security Council meeting on Libya and with Egypt to buy French Rafale jets as concern mounts over instability in neighbouring Libya

Hours after airstrikes against Islamic radicals in Libya, army units to support police forces in securing public properties, main roads and highways, Egyptian armed forces began to deploy units in governorates nationwide on Monday to secure public properties, main roads and highways, reported an army spokesperson Monday evening.
The deployment follows the National Defence Council's decision on Sunday to support police forces around the country.

The decision comes hours after Egypt launched airstrikes against Islamic State militants in Libya.

Egypt said the strikes are a retaliation for the beheading of 21 Egyptian Copts by the Islamic radicals in Libya.

I'm not surprised, considering the Islamic radicals are pissing everyone off by brutally murdering citizens of any country that stand in there way. The mounting outrage over the killing of innocent civilians will only unite countries to stand together to defeat this evil menace. The sooner the better.

Seems flimsy..........
The army bolsters the police force....sounds like a martial law ploy to strengthen a military presidents hold on the country....|?
Oh well not to let a good crisis go to waste they say......
I think this is all a charade by now...with puny ISIS being coddled in its infancy to create the illusion of a horrible enemy of mankind....
They will start the great Muslim /Christian conflict or die trying wont they......

How do we know for certain that they are actually bombing ISIS positions?

Are we supposed to constantly believe "official" sources and the MSM?

I fail to see our issue, are you telling me that MSM is an avenue for the governments to control the information released to us, the people?

shame on you.....

Now they are bombing.

To bomb, they must have a target (ostensibly). So the Egyptian MoD had to acquire those targets. That did not happen in a day. They had the intel already.

Why wait until now? How many atrocities is the the threshold?

I am not just poking at Egypt here. There are other players who fall into that same category.

The problem is, you have to pay attention to something, otherwise you know nothing and you have no reason to be here discussing anything.

At what point do you simply distrust absolutely everything you read and watch and just give up entirely on all notions of politics?

So, given that you need some avenue of information, in order to debate, discuss and be involved, which do you trust more? Do you trust a wordpress blog with a clear bias, or a Russian news network with their own clear bias, or Fox news with their corporate bias, or the BBC with their western bias and obvious government interference...

You have to pay attention to at least something.

Simply rejecting all "MSM" is not a solution, because then all you're left with is bloggers and YouTubers, who all have their own agendas anyway, and far fewer journalistic standards too.

About this much, apparently.

Committing to military action successfully takes political and cultural consensus. Too prematurely and you risk dividing your own side. ISIS's atrocities have made the majority in Egypt hate ISIS and be even more skeptical of the Muslim Brotherhood.

I wonder if ISIS will finally jump the shark and attack in Turkey, weakening their only friend, Ergodan.
