In was attending a movie at the mall as I live 3 miles away. First of all this mall is on the verge of closing as it has been for the past two years. There are never more than 50 people in the mall aside from employees. Most stores are closed. Only jcpennies and belk still remain of the anchor stores.

Regardless of status of the mall the impromptu "riot" was maybe 25-30 kids...mostly African American but certainly not all.....acting rowdy and causing a confrontation with police.

No where near 100....//let alone 1000

And by no means a riot.

Thanks for the info. Wonder if Breitbart got pranked, and the other outlets took it from there? Certainly haven't seen any videos of more than 30 kids running wild. Certainly there are several reports alleging that the high numbers were being reported by the police, and no retractions, yet, from them.

Even our local news reported high numbers. I was laughing at that when it was first reported. I didn't expect it to become nationally reported incorrectly also. Interestingly enough there were only two local news vans from what I saw.

To the people here saying that there's nothing racist with that... How would have reacted if a news outlet would have covered a similar riot by "1000 Whites" in a shopping mall?

Yes, you'd say this is "anti-White" racism.

But due to the awesome magic thinking that some of you have, only racism against Blacks (or Hispanics, or Arabs, or Roma) is "not racism".

Why am I not surprised with such hateful bigotry?

Not every black kid in the video was "rioting" I WAS THERE. Why take a video and the sensationalized news
over eye witness account. Every eye witness stating hundreds of kids is exaggerating. That is a predominately
black neighborhood. There were lots of young african american kids there who were not causing any trouble at all. In
fact watch the security video again and you will see that most of them are standing still or walking around not rioting.

Someone is telling lies, its very hard to mistake 25 -50 people for 900 so the simple fact is that there IS a lie going on.

Other video's I've see of different steaming events (that's the British term for mass amounts of youths intent on stealing and violence) show a minimum of 100 plus and often a whole lot more and yes its totally black kids.

So who is the person telling the lies, the media or a 'witness', I don't know but the Police say there was a vast crowd of youths.

Someone knows what the truth is but sadly in today's society its almost impossible to trust anyone to be completely honest..

Too many loyalties and vested interests going on...

I agree with the generality of the post, it just always irks me somewhat when someone decides to teach me about my own country. Mind you, I'm quick enough to do exactly the same to other people, so I really shouldn't be throwing stones...

If this occurred a predominately black neighborhood, mentioning the fact that they where all black would only be ignorant. The people living there would understand what is normal in their neighborhood. Saying they where all black would only serve a purpose towards allowing outsiders to formulate racist notions.

Now If you live in a predominantly single race neighborhood and suddenly a thousand from another race invade your public areas and incite violence... Then the race being mentioned, would be the story.

The ignorance combined with indifference is not disappearing anytime soon. I just hope us partially non sapiens (neanderthals or other hominid, sapiens mix) don't become targets of the uninformed, so just let them think the genes went extinct. I don't need to hear that my large brow size or non segmented abdominal muscles mean that I'm as stupid as the second to last monkey in the Darwin illustration.

Dude trust me bro, if even 500 kids were legitimately rioting, as some nefarious editor/producers' would want your thought process to believe, I would have read about it in the local paper. I live in Tampa, barely an hour and a half away, it did not even blip. The eye witness account from this ATS citizen is much more believable to me based on experience and living in the state.

There is a high school here in Tampa in a neighborhood with a large chunk of the demographic pie going to this "group" people around here want to lump them into. The kids are at the McDonalds at 56th and Sligh everyday filling up the parking lot and the inside. Many times fights break out. It is just where they can all meet and hang out and eat for cheap. That many kids in one location attracts rivalries. Sometimes things happen. It happens in suburban "All American white-bred" communites, it happens in Asian communities, it happens in Latino districts. It will happen anywhere large numbers hang out at.

Think for yourselves seriously, if the doom porn sounds too good to be true, it is. The media is just trying to lap up the scraps of ratings that are left over from the lost interest in anything involving racial division as a result of Ferguson.

Do I believe the police when they say some of them were shooting guns, YES. This is Florida. If you ever spent any time in the real world in this state, we know kids here have guns or easy access to them. This is not from negligent parents in MOST cases, but from cheap stolen goods that follow a cycle. Usually a B&E by a baser who sells it to his dopeman. Dopeman uses it maybe once or twice and sells it to a buddy, and so on and so on. It happens in every state from gun hating Cali and New York, to Wyoming Oregon and even Florida.

It happens in every demographic and all types of communities.

Only a fool would think that many people were actually violently rioting all over a community and hurting people and it does not make national headlines. Most out of control College post game partying gets more out of hand than this event. After all, I did not read anywhere that said they had to close down streets for public safety or that SWAT was called in?

We know this happens in various places across the US all the time, a college team wins or loses a game and all hell breaks loose, with WHITE teens ransacking the local town and the media nowhere to be seen.

The reality, of course, is that you live in a bloody big country, and you cannot expect every event to make it to the news. However, if there is any bias anywhere, it's clearly against Black Americans.

After all, how much of th Bundy Ranch fiasco has made it to the MSM? Come on now, you know damn well that if Bundy and his Republican gun wielding law breakers were black there would have been national coverage 24/7 and Faux news would have been the first ones calling for the Army to put down an insurrection.

Come on, you know this is true just as most others here do.

I'm not arguing that lies are being told. That's my very point. Whatever the agenda the experience was quite different then what the media is portraying. It is my first time seeing that disconnect first hand and it is truly an eye opener. If I believed anything the media said before I certainly dont now.

So the most important thing about this story is not that a group of teens used social media in order to create a "flashmob" with the intent of looting a mall, but that the teens were black. Can you understand why people just might think you are racist?
