Man! Read what I said. SCIENCE proves what I said...climate is supposed to change.

It has and will continue...even as we do and do not affect it.

was real, now hype.

Read it again. Climate is supposed to change. Scientifically, constantly and never-ending...whether we affect it or not.

It has, it does, it will and won't stop.

Scientifically, naturally and at times affected by man.

Talk to an Islander in the South Pacific about global warming...and he'll say in the tropical weather..."So what's your point?"

Normal, natural, variable, violence, subtle and never ending.

Proven by science.

Everywhere you look climate alarmists are suddenly ringing the bell regarding the Earth's imminent destruction due to carbon dioxide releases in our atmosphere.

Really?

The only places I see that mentioned are on quasi-religious denalist websites run by those who refute any idea that any human activity can have any affect on everything and who accuse anyone who says otherwise of being frauds and conspiracists .....

In the real world, a multitude of scientific studies over the past few decades have shown that human activities affect the climate on local, regional and global scales and, included in this is the increase, beyond natural levels, of CO2 which for the past 150 years has been expected to increase long term global temperatures over and above what they would otherwise be, and for which there is as yet no evidence otherwise.

btw just because it naturally gets warmer during the day as the sun rises and shines on your house does not mean that switching the heating on doesnt make your house even warmer. Think about it.

You didn't get the memo from Al Gore? It's not "global warming". Because all the proles are freezing their a$$es off, we are now calling it "Climate change".

You would think all the snow that Boston and the North Eastern part of the U.S. is getting, they would have devised a way to melt this snow and send it to areas of the country that need water!! I know they already have huge trucks melting snow, but geesh, send in tanker trucks and haul it to states that need it!

Maybe we need to construct a water pipeline from the northeast to help distribute excess precipitation and at the same time prevent flooding and congestion.

This is a good point. There will come a day where fresh water is not such a disposable commodity as it is today.

Both, it's happened for the entire life of the earth, our money would be better spent learning to adapt to the changes that are coming.

That said I still think we should move to cleaner energy.

My view on the whole thing is this- The debate about the cause of Global Warming/Climate Change, or if there even is any change happening at all, is a debate that will never be won. The Skeptics are as, if not more, fanatical than the believers and there are vested interests on both sides of the argument. It is something that the average citizen cannot prove themselves one way or another and so have to rely on the so called experts to convince them on which side they choose.

However, if the focus of the argument were to change and instead of just talking about Climate Change we started talking about our toxic air pollution then this is something that average citizens like me can see, smell and taste. The way we currently do things in terms of our energy sources are extremely hazardous to our health and this is something that cannot be denied. Any skeptic can test the idea themselves by sucking on the exhaust pipe of their car for a few minutes if they want proof. Most major cities have to warn people with respitory ailments when not to go outside on days of increased air pollution because we all know it is bad for us.

As investment into clean energy alternatives has increased we are now seeing evidence that it is actually possible to source much of our energy from sources such as sunlight, wind and water. There is little to no pollution and it does not require removing and burning of any mineral, oil or gas from deep inside the earth.

I don't see how that can be a bad thing even if it turns out we are not causing Global Warming.

Read through this. YES it's real. Yes it happens naturally, but yes the industrial civilization we enjoy is absolutely triggering and exacerbating the natural cycles of Earth.

It's forecasted that there will be no more habitat for human beings by the year 2030.

Read the damned essays... follow the data! YES it's very real. Forget politics and all that stupidity. We're in the middle of the New Great Dying. The 6th mass extinction on Earth, like it or not:

Climate-Change Summary and Update

Extinction Overview
If you’re too busy to read the evidence presented below, here’s the bottom line: On a planet 4 C hotter than baseline, all we can prepare for is human extinction (from Oliver Tickell’s 2008 synthesis in the Guardian). Tickell is taking a conservative approach, considering humans have not been present at 3.3 C or more above baseline (i.e., the beginning of the Industrial Revolution, commonly accepted as 1750). I cannot imagine a scenario involving a rapid rise in global-average temperature and also habitat for humans. Neither can Australian climate scientist Clive Hamilton, based on his 17 June 2014 response to Andrew Revkin’s fantasy-based hopium. According to the World Bank’s 2012 report, “Turn down the heat: why a 4°C warmer world must be avoided” and an informed assessment of “BP Energy Outlook 2030” put together by Barry Saxifrage for the Vancouver Observer, our path leads directly to the 4 C mark. The conservative International Energy Agency throws in the towel on avoiding 4 C in this video from June 2014 (check the 25-minute mark). The 19th Conference of the Parties of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 19), held in November 2013 in Warsaw, Poland, was warned by professor of climatology Mark Maslin: “We are already planning for a 4°C world because that is where we are heading. I do not know of any scientists who do not believe that.” Among well-regarded climate scientists who think a 4 C world is unavoidable, based solely on atmospheric carbon dioxide, is Cambridge University’s Professor of Ocean Physics and Head of the Polar Ocean Physics Group in the Department of Applied Mathematics, Dr. Peter Wadhams (check the 51-second mark in this 8 August 2014 video), who says: “…the carbon dioxide that we put into the atmosphere, which now exceeded 400 parts per million, is sufficient, if you don’t add any more, to actually raise global temperatures in the end by about four degrees.” Adding to planetary misery is a paper in the 16 December 2013 issue of the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences concluding that 4 C terminates the ability of Earth’s vegetation to sequester atmospheric carbon dioxide.

This video is from 2013... at which point we had triggered 25 self-reinforcing feedback loops... (there's a nice little research topic, just Google "positive self reinforcing feedback loops in climate")

To date: there are over 40.

This is the single most important thing in the history of human existence. YES it's real... if anything this is dramatically UNDERSTATED and misunderstood. People can't seem to understand that this IS the ELE.

There is nothing to do but love each other and get right with your Creator...

I think the question in the thread title lends itself to the answer, "both are correct". Global warming is not new. It has happened before and it will happen again. The agenda of modern science and government may be to manipulate the numbers in an attempt to convince the population that it is man-made or at least enhanced by the acts of man. To what end or for what purpose we can only speculate but I suspect that there are large sums of money involved that most people will never see.

I have been researching global warming for 15 years and believe global warming is only 5 to 8% man made the rest is natural climate cycle.

At 5 to 8% man caused nothing man does will stop global warming or even slow it down enough to be able to mater.

The hoax is saying man is the main cause and can do anything to stop global warming.

I see global warming nothing more than those religious doomporn like: It will rain frog, water will turn blood and the rapture is coming for you, give us your money as it is not needed in heaven... bla bla bla...

The proponents of the Church of Warmingology are either crooks, educated idiots or simply usefull idiots!
