Scientists have discovered 2 new particles which support what is known in science as the "standard model." The particles are known as Xib'- and Xib*- are Baryon type particles. The strange thing about Baryon's is that they pop in and out of existence but the are called strong force particles because they hold particles together;unlike weak force which makes particles decay. Very interesting stuff, ATS.

The two new particles are named Xib'- and Xib*- (pronounced “zi-b-prime” and “zi-b-star,” Scientific American points out). Both Xib-and Xib*- are a type of particle called a baryon.

Baryons include familiar particles like protons and neutrons, which are held together by strong force. (The other fundamental forces in the universe are gravity, electromagnetism, and weak force. Strong force holds particles together; weak force makes particles decay.) Scientists understand the basic theory of strong force, and they can use the theory to estimate the sizes and masses of different baryons. But the mathematical equations behind strong force are incredibly complex.

Wow! 2 new particles discovered by the LHC. I wonder what else will be discovered when they fire it back up in March? What says ATS?

“We Honestly Have No #ing Idea What We’re Doing”, Admits Leading Quantum Physicist

THEORETICAL Quantum Physicist Dr. Amit Goswami admitted today that he, and his peers, have absolutely ‘no #ing idea’ what they’re doing, and claims they were no nearer than prehistoric man to figuring out the Universe.

“We have been just winging it to tell you the truth,” explained the 78-year-old in an exclusive interview with WWN. “Seriously, I haven’t a clue what’s going on. Either does anyone else in my field. We keep proving stuff that never actually happened”.
“Our cover is blown, what can I say? He added.
Dr. Goswami’s comments came after yet another alleged breakthrough in quantum mechanics which claims the universe has existed forever, as opposed to being created by a ‘big bang’.
“Over the years there have been just a handful of us pretending to know something about the universe that no one else does,” he went on. “But this is all lies to feed the charade. I’ve had some great times during the years; travelling the world, and giving talks on our pretend finds”.
When asked how he got away with it for so long, he replied: “I found out a long time ago that everything can be proven with a mathematical equation. Now, I mean everything; from unicorns, fire-breathing dragons, God and even the G-spot. None of it is true. Me and the handful that know the truth have been riding the Quantum Physicist celebrity wave for quite some time now, but it must end – before someone gets hurt”.
The University of Oregon professor warned that the European Organisation for Nuclear Research, known as CERN, could potentially wipe out the entire planet if the project is not put to a halt.
“Seriously, when myself, Higgs and Ben (Benjamin Lockspeiser CERN’s first president) first pitched the idea, we never thought it would get funding. It was gonna cost billions for Christs sake,” he recalled. “# knows what the thing does – no one does. Firing particles at each other at the speed of light can’t end well. I’m just worried now we took the joke too far”.

Ending the interview, professor Goswami apologised for “spoofing” everybody over the years.
“I’m coming near the end of my days now and I just want to get this off my chest,” he said. “I just hope the world can forgive us”.

Probably not the best website to spread crap onto ATS with.

Interesting though on the new particles. Not quite sure though that it will lead to my cornflakes not going soggy, but I'm sure it means much to the researchers!

On 03-20-15, it is my suspicion that the NWO supercomputer and CERN, will begin a series of social manipulation of time and events, that are needed for their future NWO agenda to succeed.

In a conspiracy twist, I'd bet that we're not told about every discovery.

I'm amazed at the kind of discovery's the LHC has produced and will most lightly continue to yield far into our future. After all unlocking the secrets of our universe is synonymous with humanity's continued existence on our world not to mention pretty dam interesting.

I dont know, I believe somewhere out there in the centre of the universe are the disintegrated parts of a 13.8 billion year old LHC.
I fear this Machine.

WHAT

Electrons do this aswell, and in all honesty I think we should probably find out why before #ing about with billion dollar pew pew machines.

Sadly the person they're quoting is real who's fallen off so far into the deep end of woo it's saddening. He's a quack and people shouldn't take what he says at face value.

Yeah, if only we had a tool to find out more about them. I dunno, something like a large particle accelerator... Wait, we have one, the LHC!

Good find, though if I may point out a few innacuracies:

-Baryons cannot pop in and out of existence since nothing can be created nor destroyed, only transformed. Actually the baryon will simply decay into different particles after a brief period of time.

-Baryons are not the strong force - the strong force is carried by the gluon. In fact it is the gluon which is responsible for the binding of the baryon's parts.

-And finally, the xib baryons are made of particles which have already been discovered and documented. The configuration is new, but not the building blocks. So although it is "new" in an purely academic way, I have yet to see the physical usefulness of this discovery.

Just my 2 ¢. S&F for the info!

Do they actualy use it to try and suss that out though?, dont know much about the LHC other than how it works, sort off, im not a particle physicist but if they have produced any research id sure like to know could be interest reading.

Electrons don't pop in and out of existence.

Otherwise you'd end up with really unstable atoms. Electrons are responsible for binding atoms into molecules. We would end up disintegrating all the time...

Where did you read that?

In the QM there is something called "virtual particles" but so far we have not observed one (that's why they are called "virtual"), and even then, there are conditions for them to exist.

The Electron - Neil Degrasse, Cosmos

Electrons disappear and then reappear between orbitals, so where do they go exactly?

a reply to: Dabrazzo

The electron doesn't "disappears", it simply jumps to the next orbit using a gradient of probabilistic wavefunctions.

How do electrons jump orbitals:

, the electron jumps from let's say for example from the 2s to a 3p orbital, the electron is not in any orbital during that time. Its wave function can be written as a time-varying mix of the normal orbitals. A long time before the absorption, which for an atom is a few femtoseconds or so, this mix is 100% of the 2s state, and a few femtoseconds or so after the absorption, it's 100% the 3p state. Between, during the absorption process, it's a mix of many orbitals with wildly changing coefficients.

Yeah. Obviously there is more to existence than just existing. Or not existing.

But hey, that's tough to wrap a head around, so let's just say God doesn't exist and leave it at that. 😇
