And earlier religions explained that the suns passage across the sky was achieved by a giant indivisible chariot. They all did the best that they could in explaining the natural world but that doesn't make any of those archaic viewpoints valid. Mankind has been questioning the existence of God for way longer then the existence of dinosaurs.

Duh, the dinosaurs were so heavy that the earth rotated slower. A day wasn't 24 hours it was 56. They had plenty of time to eat.

Actually, the earth was smaller, & so it had less gravity, which resulted in much larger animals/insects (& probably also affected the length of day)
