Not really. Just because he's popular does not mean he's right or that his "system" is effective.

He is popular because his sytem is effective. Why is this so hard to understand?

He is popular because his sytem is effective.

So he's reduced illegals in Maricopa?
Got the stats on that?

So ironic.

"Our rights have been taken away in the name of homeland security."

But it's OK to detain American citizens who look like they might be illegals.

No, it is most certainly not OK. That is what I am trying to determine.

A lot of the Arizona "problem" comes from the Janet Napolitano jilty jealousies.

She was Governor and Attorney General there.

Reduced? It's hard to say as they are undocumented.. however

More inmates were tagged with federal immigration detainers in Maricopa County’s main jail than at any other facility in the country, according to a recent Syracuse University analysis.

The report released last week sought to track the number of unique federal immigration detainers, also known as immigration holds, placed over a period of more than four years on inmates suspected of being undocumented immigrants. The report surveyed thousands of detention facilities nationwide.

The report tracked 28,862 immigration holds at “Maricopa County Jail,” a figure that exceeded those of a Los Angeles County sheriff’s detention facility and a county facility in Houston. Maricopa County’s tally topped 30,000 when inmates processed at the Lower Buckeye Jail were included. The Sheriff’s Office books the majority of inmates at Fourth Avenue Jail.

Valley lockup had most illegal-immigration suspects

How many legal citizens were locked up? I guess it doesn't matter if they looked Mexican, right?

I'm white and in an American city and can be arrested for not having I.D. when randomly stopped.

It's been like that everywhere I have lived in the U.S..

Why should another group be exempt because of their color/nationality?

One would be correctly inclined to view that as blatant/up front racism.

No you can't.
There is no legal requirement to carry or provide ID.

That is unconstitutional and you have legal recourse. Unless you are operating a vehicle and the state you are in requires an automobile license to drive, you cannot be stopped for your papers so to speak.

Didn't miss anything. Anyone can get detained for not being able to produce an ID until their identity is verified. Question is.. why is it 28,862 people failed to produce ID for so long that they were tagged for deportation? Man you are really digging now, I like what you did there at the end of your post. Pure and utter desperation

False.
I cannot be legally detained for not carrying ID. Nor can you.

Your awesome...

Joe is a nightmare my friend... he's not popular, there is just a very senile elderly population here, every couple of years Arizona proposes something that simply shocks the whole nation, makes us look like absolute morons and Joe is a ringleader of stupidity one way or another behind the scenes, he's a very powerful man, he takes money from everything including the prisoners vending machines.

The man doesn't believe in human rights what so ever, i'm 44 and he's been in power since I was attending ASU, it's somewhat frightening and whenever you see something stupid there is almost no doubt behind the scenes him, his people or their money at his word is behind it...

Currently we are a short year or so away from legalized MJ, but here and only here you can be charged with a dui for MJ "metabolites" in other words I smoke a joint tonight (fortunately i'm up in flag by the observatory) but I drive down to Phx in 3 weeks, they blood test me for...being alive and in a car and I could loose my licence, essentially it's being set up that even legal with a medical card they can at least take your car and stop you from driving... he authorizes his officers to confiscate medical cards right now, including not people like me who have (wink, wink) chrons disease and need relief to look at the stars lol, but people with Leukemia et al

This guy has to be stopped, it would be the first and most important step to ending an AZ that regularly tries to do things like keep Gays out of restaurants, lock away old Mexican women, refuse MLK day, make people wear pink underwear and humiliate them publicly and a lot more...

And it is, of course, a crime to look Mexican in Maricopa county.
