Salvatore Santoro an Italian hostage has been killed by an Islamist group in Iraq. Al-Jazeera television said quoting a statement from the group and showing footage of the man. The station broadcast pitures and footage of the Islamic extremists showing Salvatore's passport, with him in a ditch, blind-folded and with a gun to his head. The Islamic group responsible said Salvatore had been killed because he supported the Americans. More than 150 foreigners have been taken hostage in Iraq since April. More than 30 of the foreign hostages have been killed by their captors.

it seems like everyday there is another person taken hostage and an extremist group demanding money or the release of certain people. i believe this is only because of America attacking iraq. before the war the iraqi people, and even the groups of extremists that opperated there did not feel that much hate towards the now dubbed 'enemy'. America then brought european countries in to the war effort, thus making the extremist groups feel a lot of hate towards the invading countries. there will be no end to the hostages, the suffering, and the innocent lives taken. for in every war there is never a victor. all sides are losers, a war is not for a week, not for a month, not even for years, its forever. live with the mistakes we made, and hopefully learn from them.
