UN Official Admits to Using Climate Change to Change Economy

I was just ready to close the laptop and leave and this story popped up. Oh well, I'll be a few minutes late.
Sorry if this is brief.

I know some will say what is said in this article is good and what is necessary to save the world from catastrophe.

I am not one who thinks that. To me this is more proof that HGW is nothing more than a means to an end.

3 February 2015 - The Top UN Climate Change Official is optimistic that a new international treaty will be adopted at Paris Climate Change conference at the end of the year. However the official, Christiana Figueres, the Executive Secretary of UNFCCC, warns that the fight against climate change is a process and that the necessary transformation of the world economy will not be decided at one conference or in one agreement.

Fundamental transformation sounds real familiar to Americans.

"This is probably the most difficult task we have ever given ourselves, which is to intentionally transform the economic development model, for the first time in human history", Ms Figueres stated at a press conference in Brussels.

"This is the first time in the history of mankind that we are setting ourselves the task of intentionally, within a defined period of time to change the economic development model that has been reigning for at least 150 years, since the industrial revolution. That will not happen overnight and it will not happen at a single conference on climate change, be it COP 15, 21, 40 - you choose the number. It just does not occur like that. It is a process, because of the depth of the transformation."

Climate Change is a Gruberistic manufactured lie, designed toward a diabolical end. Many well-meaning people have been sucked into the propaganda vortex, and sincerely believe the world is in danger if we don’t address this “crisis.” Don’t buy it. True science demonstrates the world is NOT warming as the models have predicted, and man’s activities are NOT contributing to some future crisis as the seas rise and ice caps melt, etc., etc., etc.

As with all such plans, it would ensure a small upper-crust of well-paid hacks, attending fancy meetings, and luxuriating at our expense, while the vast majority of the world suffers in increasing squalor and lack, with no hope of rising above it. If you think it’s bad now (and in many places it’s incredibly sad) just wait till this nonsense prevails, and the wealth of the world shrinks into oblivion.

Yes, we need to take better care of the planet, but CO2 (as one example) is not a problem–in fact, it helps the world be more lush and fruitful. Please… please… if you’re concerned about Climate Change, you need to do more research. Don’t be a useful idiot.

I have always believed we are being deceived as a means to an end by these elites that think the sheeple are to dumb to think for themselves and need to be forced to do things their way. While they soak up what little is left of our wealth.

While this may be a giant conspiracy, it's possible that the whole point is trying to introduce a new type of fuel to the world without destroying the global economy. In a world where the petrol dollar is king, removing the need for petrol would be disastrous.

Of course that opens up all the conspiracies of hiding the technology of cleaner fuels.

Either way, TPTB, AKA "them/they" will be the ones making all the transitions and knowing what stocks to buy and when.

Still, as you say, there are people who don't understand the implications and there are people who desire those very implications.

The government and the people who control the government depend of fear to keep their political support.

The idea of harmful climate change is a seed of fear that has been cultivated by the elites for more than a generation now. In the collectivist progressive mind, anything that gives the government more power is a good thing, because currently, the collectivist progressives have control of the government. There is no way no convince a CP that global warming is a con, its just to good for them.

The only vote left is to drop out.

Over the last few years I have noticed a dramatic increase in the mention of Ayn Rand (negative of course). Yet, as you point out, her popularity is exponentially increasing.

Perhaps all we have to do is provoke the ire of socialists against Ludwig Von Mises and they will provide a promotion campaign the likes of which Mises' writings have never enjoyed.

Most people a afraid of freedom. They have been raised to think that everyone will abuse them without the government to keep life under control.

Control of day to day life is exerted by society, not government.

The only real way to make society free is to show everybody how freedom works. Advertising by example.

Hopefully without airstrikes and paramilitary police blitzkrieg.

I can agree with that up to a point. The thing is, at this moment in time, we should be already riding around on bikes.
The IPCC is on its fifth assessment saying much the same, while its the different countries who still have difficulties on what is the way forward, and 2020 is still a good bit away yet. I still think there is a lot of doubt surrounding the IPCC, they call much of the shots, and those who are placed on the various panels, in the last assessment 2014, there was something like 60% or more of new to the IPCC panellists, and they are all chosen from nominations of thousands down to around 800, something of a dynasty of its own. Neither does the IPCC shrink from propagandising,

If you think everyone should be on a bike, you must have a low opinion of the common man, yourself included.

The IPCC is the same segment of society that made every catastrophe of the modern world. The IPCC social know-it-alls made WW1, the Russian Revolution, the Great Depression, WW2, the Cold War, The Energy Crisis, the Credit Union crash, the Dot-Com bubble, Al Qaeda, the Housing Crash and the Banker Bailout.

There is no proof of AGW, only computer models calling for bigger government, by bigger government.

If carbon dioxide is the control knob, and less that 5% of all the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere comes from human sources, and 35% of that has been in the past 15 years when no warming has actually been happening what MEASUREMENTS are used to determine the fraction of the 0.8 degrees since 1880 in the undoubtedly warming atmosphere is human derived.

Simple question really because loads of folks talk about it all the time...

Before replying please note I said measurements. I.e how much is due to the 95% perfectly natural carbon dioxide and how much to the 5%... Then explain why it's a problem we can't actually measure.......
