I have had cystic acne all my life, been under the treatment of dermatologists since I was ten. Two rounds of Accutane, antibiotics for years, even
some experimental therapies... the day I decided to try using castor oil, it was all over. That was two years ago.
I guess you use what works for you, but what I do is mix in some essential oils, like Chamomile, lavender, tea tree, geranium, lemon. I massage it in,
then leave it on for ten or fifteen minutes, then wash it off. Not washing it off, (leaving it on all night) seems to cause excessive drying. But this
way, I don't get that effect, just clear skin. Essential oils which are anti-inflammatory bring down the redness.
My recipe, I make in bottles for all my kids, and they call it "mom's magic oil".
