Another war… Angry stupid men running around killing, and maiming, mainly innocent civilians all for their sick depraved egos…
Nationalism, tribalism, or religious tribalism, it’s always the same ol BS from the same ol type personalities.

And age old madness that the modern world thinks it has all figured out yet we’ve killed and slaughtered just as many human beings in these stupid wars of today as humans of old

When will we ever learn?

It may be we are addicted to war

Why don't they just skip the war this time

flip a coin

Why Arming Kyjev Is a Really, Really Bad Idea....

www.liveleak.com...

Arming Ukraine, on the other hand, is a recipe for a longer and more destructive conflict. It’s easy to prescribe such actions when you’re safely located in a Washington think tank, but destroying Ukraine in order to save it is hardly smart or morally correct diplomacy.

Well there is a giant difference. Russian stole land from a sovereign nation. We have no annexed any land. It would be like the USA going to to mexico and taking it for their own.

The same presumptions and paranoia let your country into Iraq 2003 war. Results are known to all.

Presumptions and paranoia can be stretched to suit one's personal goals in the case of small countries.

Similar approach in dealing with Russia and few others will result is serious damage to the long term well being.

Not a good idea...............

You dont think putin is reacting to his own paranoia about the EU and NATO?

I think Putin is kind of behind the schedule. He should have acted (i.e. built up Russian military) when NATO further expanded further in 2004 and added Baltics and others to the alliance.

NATO expansion eastwards was not supposed to happen.

Paranoia is some thing that you presume...............Putin is no presuming NATO expansion, he has seen it happen for 20+ years.

Russians were sleeping all along until Urkraine crisis happened. First time in 2004 when Yushchenko came to power, Russians played by the rules and had Yanukovich win FAIR elections later on.

Russians or anyone else would not play by the rules when Thuggish Junta chases out an elected President.

Putin should tell Merkel and Hollande, that if they tow the US line then aftermath of the EXCHANGE will see their countries removed from the map. US and Russia will still survive but European poodles will NOT !

US Aegis and BMDs will not able to protect the poodles.

The problem with this action is how to pay for it. You would be having Russia trying to counter a NATO force after the collapse of the USSR against an "enemy" in name only.

We have been down this road before. NATO never said they would not expand east. This is something Putin has been using to influence the opinions of his own people in order to paint NATO as the aggressor. Secondly NATO expansion is not as simple as you and others make it out to be. NATO cannot force nations to join and ANY NATO nation can block any potential member from joining by their own vote. To join NATO the vote must be unanimous.
The former SSR's ran to NATO when the USSR collapsed so they could get out from under Soviet occupation. If we look at those former SSR's who did not join NATO and the predicament they are in today. Anyone can see why they ran to NATO.

The problem is Putin is seeing enemies in anyone who does not see the world his way. This is the same reason the USSR failed. Enemies under every rock. If NATO was a threat Russia would not exist as we know it today. Since NATO is a defensive alliance, and has shared borders with Russia the last 20 years with no issue, to all of a sudden claim they are a threat is paranoia.

Further the US and Russia share a border and we have had no issues there.

Russia cannot survive in a world of competition in terms of economics. Russia refuses to bring its economy into the 21st century. Instead of adapting they are trying to force former SSR's into their economic "sphere" which only benefits Russia. Even with Ukraine joining the EU Russia threw a fit and demanded over 3000 items be removed as it would directly compete with Russian items.

Russia is demanding Ukraine remove those items so they don't directly compete with Russian items. Gee, I wonder why their economy was and is still crap?

You need to do more research considering the Ukraine courts got involved in one of those elections and nullified the results in several regions due to Yanukovych conducting election fraud.

Yanukovych was lawfully removed by a government that was elected by the people of Ukraine and accepted by the Russian government and the UN.

The government was lawfully elected by the people. Yanukovych was lawfully removed from office. The resulting elections for Parliament and President were accepted by the world, including Russia. Your use of the term Junta is nothing more than Russian propaganda used to try and influence people who apparently are unable to think for themselves.

When the Russian government accepted the government, there is no Junta. So please explain to us where you get Junta when the government is accepted by the world, the UN and Russia.

And they should tell Putin any attack on any NATO member will be considered an attack on all NATO members and considering several NATO nations have their own nukes Russia could not guarantee they cold take them all out in the first strike, resulting in Russia also being removed from the map.

A war started by Putin is not one he will win.

and your ignorance concerning NATO and its individual nations military capabilities wont protect you or the bear.

NATO nor the west is a threat to the Russian bear... however, septicemia(Putin) is. If not treated it can be fatal.

I don't' get your point - you seem to be saying that NATO and the West are a threat because they are imposing sanctions in response to Russia's invasion of Ukraine?

But sanctions are not an invasion - and in this case they are clearly a RESPONSE to an invasoin - prior to al this the west was increasing economic ties with Russia every year - Russia was getting richer, Putin's mates were making more money.....the west was an opportunity for Russia - not a threat.

I am more and more of the mindset Putin went down this road because of his election issues at home. Had this crisis not been engineered by Putin he would be facing issues from his last Presidential election where there were wide spread reports of election fraud.

He is doing the same thing Ahmadinejad did. Whenever there is turmoil on the home front conjure up an external enemy to change their focus.

when in doubt use the nationalism play.
