Fox News’ blood-lusty low...snuff films

As I said - journalism is something that's always interested me. It's something I respect

A few years ago - right here at ATS - there was a to do over some photos of the dead and dying in an incident that happened between Israel and the Palestinians. There was some debate then about whether or not that was OK

A few short years later we're watching a man burn to death in real time

In the entire history of photo journalism, there have always been photos of atrocities - I absolutely support that. Those images bring the story home and give it some real depth. But at the same time those images didn't usually make it to the nightly news

Is this different? I think it is

I'm out of here for a while. I'm very interested to see where this goes

I think people should see all of these videos just like they should be wathcing the people that had to jump from the Trade Center. We need to know who it is that is commiting these acts.

People need to get angry about things that deserve getting angry about.

Some people are evidently not intelligent enough to be outraged without watching an entire film of a man's gruesome and inhumane death - every last second of it

Who are these people that can't understand the story without some torture porn to go with it?

During the Vietnam war the liberal press continuously showed "snuff porn". It was on the news nearly every night, I remember, my father was there and I didn't miss the news.
The liberal press said they did it to show the horror of war and why we needed to stop the war.

For liberals to backtrack now and say that a conservative news source should not show what they showed nonstop for years is the height of hypocrisy.

Actually the liberals were right during Vietnam, showing the snuff porn on every news cast did shorten the war and made people want to see the war end. They were horrified.

And now the conservative news is right. Showing the films of what is really happening will horrify people. And like the liberal press of the Vietnam era, may spur people into action to put an end to the horrors.

The only issue i have with fox and there fans is when they call it news, and no nobody is forcing you to watch it.

You are wasting more energy being mad at Fox for showing this than being mad at the bastards who stood there and lit the fire as they were filmed chanting about their God.

We all remember John Kerrys request on global TV begging for permission to bomb Syria because the Syrian government used chemical weapons on the children..........or so we were told and sort-of shown.

Request to bomb Syria denied.

Fast forward to last year and out of nowhere comes ISIS - seemingly bankrolled to the hilt with shiny new Toyota Hiluxes and weapons and a knack of uploading professional looking YT vids of beheadings.

Fast forward to a few days ago and a suspiciously well formatted and put-together film of death achieved what John Kerry couldn't - global permission to Bomb Syria......to get rid of the baddies.

Jordan just bombed Syria to get rid of the baddies.

Chemical weapons on the kids - NO
Burn alive and listen to a screaming man - YES

IMO, FOX (and others) are towing the line to spew the propaganda to ensure public support of bombing SyriaISIS.

And it worked a treat.

That film is on myriad other sites, none of those are mentioned.
There are sites that show grusome "snuff films" daily, yet the op has never posted a thread bashing say, liveleak.

No, of course "the public" isn't. Wheres your outrage about the one sided narrative occurring in the western Main stream?. Hell fire missiles and one ton bombs burn loads of people all the time. Wheres the outrage about that?

'Fanning' the flames? Blaming a religion for atrocity and using that as an excuse to promote unjust war is as old as time.

i have no problem with them showing the video, even though i didn't watch it or very many of them.

now for my reasons on both.

first, i'm sure Fox as most other networks do gave warning about what was about to be seen and recommended that certain viewers not watch. if you chose to watch that's on you and yours.

second, i feel that it is important for people to see the magnitude of the things being done, how utter barbaric the acts are and how evil these a@@wipes are.

third, i feel that it is honoring the memory of the person for people to see that person give his life to stop this evil. i know some are not going to understand this, or the fact that i say it without watching them. i watched a couple, that only made me more angrier than reading, or hearing about it. the feeling that other than just giving my support to stop these became so unbearable. i won't do that to myself anymore.

those above are just the ones that these walking bags of pig sh@@ bragged about, no doubt in my mind there are others that were killed by beheading or other means that the world will never know except for maybe their family and friends. that's another reason these should be shown.

ETA: here is a more in depth list for beheading videos, take time to say a prayer or what ever you do for your spiritual beliefs for the loved ones of these people. many of them were only doing a job trying to tell the story of what is happening over there, and hurt no one.

Sure thing.....you attack Abe calling him a conservative because he said something about Fox News....you obviously do not agree with him. The opposite of a conservative is a liberal. If you agreed with him you would be a conservative as well. Even if you are something in between, your post sounds like a liberal view attack on a conservative view.

Care to explain your obvious disdain for conservatives or how you know he is because of a comment about Fox News?

As for the vid..have not nor will watch it..no need to.

I think there's just something sick about people that watch movies like this. It IS a snuff movie and you have to be missing an important peice to have the desire to watch it.
I think it does show a difference doesnt it, we'll repsect an american citzen but a muslin from another country? lets show everybody.

I am sure he is a grown man and can defend himself as well.

Every news site has made up stories....because you know this does not make you informed, as I am sure most intelligent readers of news take everything they say with a grain of salt, yet can read between lines.

What makes you a liberal, in my eyes, is that you are attempting to "egg" someone on by saying "does it hurt your conservative values". This tells me you have little respect for conservative views, and as such are likely a far-right liberal, which by definition SHOULD have respect for everyone's views.

Are you not a liberal? Or are you just some mad troll that likes to take cheap shots for a reaction?
