Wouldn't it just make sense to throw all that stuff out there and let the idiots all kill themselves off with it........we could then pick up all the dead idiots, bury them and move on.....kind of tough eugenics in a way......

I actually thought about that.

But the damage that could be caused would effect idiots and rational folks alike.

Maybe advanced aliens decide which technologies we can have and which ones we can't?

I mean, I'm trying to to find a reason why we aren't more advanced and why supposed technologies we've heard about over the years have never seen the light of day.

It's all a matter of power and control...who ever has the power...

Most of the advanced technology and medical procedures we hear about that make us say, "I want that!" Are often pieces of people's imagination or poorly constructed prototypes, or untested theories, sadly.

As for technological advancement in general, open your eyes!

Computers are pretty much ubiquitous. We have digitized our lives. There have been massive advances in communication. People talk about the internet of things. Cyborgs are becoming reality, people controlling robotic limbs. We have got autonomous/semi-autonomous vehicles here on earth, and we send them to other planets. We have mapped the human genome.

Yet we refuse to protect & reinforce our power grid. This digitized futuristic world we live in could so easily come to a crashing halt.

It must be nice to be able to avoid a real & possible threat by labeling it doom porn. I personally live for doom porn;
Waking up everyday is the worst doom of all.

Just think if we all had jetpacks how much fun we could have flying around! Of course there would have to be magnets on everything to prevent collisions, but thats not really a bad thing in my opinion.

There is only one answer - ELECTRICITY. We live in massive magnetic fields. The jetpack will be powered by electricity.
You will see one day. It'll be here soon.

I would settle for an iron man type rig as well, I think eletricity could make an awesome jetpack FTW!

Here is your personal jetpack - 150.000 to 200.00 dollars

phys.org...

Or other types of personal flying machines such as the;

Aerochute for 16.000 AUD ( about 12.500 USD) - much cheaper.. www.gizmag.com...

or the - ParaJet www.countrylife.co.uk... (cant find price)

or the - Flynano www.flynano.com... (cant find price)

Seems there are lots of personal flying machines around if you can afford them. I'll wait for the under 1000 dollar model.

We should have had jetpacks in the 1940s
