Back in the day I had a copy of Heuvelman's 'On the Track of Unknown Animals' and as I recall there was a chapter on monstrous plants, some carnivorous. (IIRC some were in Madagascar.)
My original copy disappeared. I've acquired two since (one a first edition) but neither has the chapter on plants.
am I imagining this? Is there an expanded edition with this material?
anyone familar with this book, I'd appreciate your help.

Meh, divergent Universe... I had my laptop switch it's OP sometime in the last week all on it's own... I was positive my desktop used Windows Vista, and my laptop Windows 7... now both use Vista... friends who helped set up my home wifi network attest to it, and I;ve never heard of a comp switching OSs on it's own... sorta an e-Berstein/ Bernstain bears conundrum.

I love Heuvelman, BTW and now that you mention it, I remember the carnivorous plant chapter...but maybe just suggestion!

Though I've never read the book I have read articles on carnivorous plants, and at least one has referenced that book. I think it was a big plant that would eat native tribes, but it was later found to be a myth...
