So when was the last time you identified as something you are not, by slip of the tongue? Is it a common thing where you live?

Tell me.

People are bullying your child calling him gay. Your child sees another child and says "I am glad he doesn't talk about my being gay".

Does that mean your child is gay and is admitting it, or is he simply referring to the things he is being accused of?

Same thing here.

It isn't the same. Obama first said "my Muslim faith" and then corrected himself saying "my Christian faith". i.e. he meant to say "Christian faith" the first time.

So your analogy is laughable.

He was talking in context of others associating him with Islam though. After the reporter 'corrected' him, Obama said he was referring to the aforementioned:

SEN. OBAMA: What I was suggesting — you're absolutely right that John McCain has not talked about my Muslim faith, and you're absolutely right that that has not come ...

MR. STEPHANOPOULOS (interrupting): Your Christian faith.

SEN. OBAMA: My Christian faith — well, what I'm saying is ...

MR. STEPHANOPOULOS (interrupting): Connections, right.

SEN. OBAMA: ... that he hasn't suggested that I'm a Muslim, and I think that his campaign upper echelons haven't either. What I think is fair to say is that coming out of the Republican camp, there have been efforts to suggest that perhaps I'm not what who I say I am when it comes to my faith, something which I find deeply offensive, and that has been going on for a pretty long time.

"Well, what I'm saying is that he hasn't suggested that I'm a Muslim, and I think that his campaign upper echelons haven't either."

Obama was speaking within a specific context, and whoever edited the video done so in order to misconstrue his words. Simply put, Obama didn't slip up, he was saying what he intended to say. The reporter incorrectly corrected him.

...

Thanks to Elton for the transcript.

Very good point.

Though to play devils advocate here out of boredom.... Or is he very sly, realized his mistake and made the only viable obvious correction?

Just for the sake of banter and conversation...please entertain this thought for a moment and think it through.

Obviously none of us can know the truth, we don't know his mind.

But what if?
