I was always interested in speculative fiction, and MUFON involvement in college seemed like a natural extension of my physics and SF interests. However, as I found out the hard way, MUFON of that time was more interested in perpetuating the idea (at all costs) that we are being visited... I didn't like investigating with preconceived notions. As I've said pretty often, I don't think we've ever been visited by extraterrestrials in space craft, and that the Roswell incident was created to scare the crap out of the soviets -- then the lie got out of hand.
