Mitt Romney has announced he will NOT run for President in 2016 !!

One reason he gives is he wants to give other Party members the opportunity.

Well this cuts the field down dramatically.

Looks like Jeb Bush has an excellent chance now.

Mitt Romney Will Not Run For President

BOSTON (CBS) – There will be no third presidential run for Mitt Romney.

The former Massachusetts governor said in a statement late Friday morning that he will not seek the Republican nomination for the 2016 presidential election.

“I’ve decided it is best to give other leaders in the party the opportunity to become our next nominee,” Romney said in prepared remarks read in a conference call.

Get Ready for JEB !!!

I'm not surprised. Mitt and Jeb had their pow-wow last week and it seems Mitts old donors are already backing Jeb. I'd rather see Scott Walker than Jeb but he seems to be 'it' this time ....

I actually prefered Romney to Bush. Either way we are screwed.

YAY! Thank God.

this just made my day, but that's not saying a lot - my week has been awful - full of bad news and frustration. So I guess I could say that if he had said he WILL, it would have made my day the worst in probably 2 years.

I would prefer Walker too.

He will be making an impact in the 2016 campaign for sure.

Perhaps a Cabinet position or run for Senator later.

I bet he runs stronger for President next decade (like 2024).

Same here-Walker looks like the best, imo.

I was pleased to hear of Romney dropping out.

"What is a Mitt Romney?" (The first thing I thought years ago when I first heard his name.)

Hillary hasn't been seen lately because her cronies are trying to figure out which accents she should fake while pandering to the uninformed drooling masses of liberals.

That musta been some meeting they had. [ETA: I mean Jeb and Mitt]

Kinda reminds me of the McCain-GWB meeting in 1999 And the Hillary Clinton-Obama meeting in 2007? 2008?

I think they know which ones to use.

But She needs to be tutored to perfection to have any effect.

I really don't think Bush (Or Clinton for that matter) is gonna get the nominee. It would be to in your face with all these dynasty candidates. The General Population really doesn't want another Bush or Clinton. If they try it, there is gonna be a huge backlash, and if only one tries it, the other side will prosper greatly.

If she runs, I hope she doesn't win. So it's cool with me either way.

If Clinton runs vs R Candidate (where R=Anyone but Bush) she loses

If Bush runs vs D Candidate (where D=Anyone but Clinton) he loses

If it's Clinton VS Bush you will see one of the lowest turn outs in history, or the highest third party turn out in history.
