Celebrities: "Love thy RICH and FAMOUS neighbour as thyself"

What greater deception to destroy the moral code of western society (The Golden Rule) than through celebrity worship? Spend all your energy/focus on them and the joy they give you so you won't feel compassion for your POOR and AVERAGE neighbour. How sad!

Apathy increases as people care more and more for their music, Tv Shows, and celebrity gossip.

With no compassion , the elite can have full domination and no one will care for the constitution /equal rights anymore.

The news and violent movies have also desensitized people to pain and suffering.

Pray for others to be cared for. Meditate on it. Give to charity, do something to stimulate higher levels of Compassion. Do not be robbed of your humanity.

How did you make the leap that liking a celebrity is mutually exclusive from having compassion for others?

I think it is unwise to install absolute agendas into the human consciousness, such as this, and others one could mention. The truth is that there are many roads down which a human mind can, and indeed should wander. Human beings should be able to marvel at the accomplishments of others, without envy, without callousness. But at the same time, they should not be blinded by those accomplishments, or think TOO much of the people who make them. Appreciating a persons skill at acting, or anything else, is understandable and fair. Worshiping them however, is not.

I would also include worshipping some god or prophet in a completely irrational and dogmatic way.

The point of love thy neighbour or the golden rule, is that you don't make exceptions for people you don't like. It should be all encompassing, extending your love to people you don't even like. The rich and celebrities are still human, still have emotions still feel pain, still suffer. You don't have to do it, but it makes life better for everyone if you do. Including yourself. It's not going to make you feel any better to hate the rich or celebrities.

There is an excellent buddhisst meditation called loving kindness. First you start with thinking about someone you do love or have loved and who loves you unconditionally and taking those feelings and extending them to someone you don't know, then to someone you have trouble with in your life then extending the feelings to someone you don't like then extending them again to all sentient beings. It sounds a bit fluffy or contrived at first but can help you deal with strong negative emotions you might be experiencing.

Worshipping false idols is never worth it and on the larger sale it is just another aspect of the pyramid scheme of power to which the populations are subjected.

Mass manipulation of minds and behaviour is the objective, media hype is their means.

If the top of the pyramid wants young girls to dress a certain way for example, that suits their evil minds and agendas they only needs manipulation, promotion and hype of the Miley Cyruses of the 'entertainment' (aka mind control) industry and in such a way that makes them 'idols' and there it is, entire swathes of teenage girls wearing not enough clothes, getting their moral guidance from immorality and having the attitude of dumb, slutty, punks.

Insert many examples, Kardashian = girls getting dangerous butt implants! (ew), new levels of stupidity have emerged from those of manipulative agendas.

Sure, like decent music, have role models etc but try to do it ethically and in ways that are productive that shape the easily influenced and vulnerable into decent, moral, ethical citizens. Parents should be aware of these agendas and be proactive in their children's interests and role models.

I already explained. More and more you focus on them who already have a "good" life rather than your average neighbours who realky need attention/love/affection.

Its not "liking" that is being pushed and promoted. Its idolization of media stars and even presidents and royal families. They want to people to worship the guys at the top and equate them as the good, when nothing could be further from the truth.

The good is the people, and the homeless are King in that category. True Love and Family and Higher Ups uphold the smallest and crown them king. Thats what Love does always.

Because the hope is that you will get sucked in and start to idolize them and what they have and want it to be like they are to the exclusion of all else. You will also absorb what they spout and the storylines they push. Haven't you noticed the trends and clichés Hollywood makes use of over and over? Things they do and don't allow to be in their shows and movies?

Once they have you hooked, it's a subtle form of societal conditioning.
