No. It was that the Earth maybe in the future would be entering an ice age in the future (a few thousand years) because of astronomical changes in climate forcing. That science is still true, but human changes to greenhouse gases will change things in the other direction faster.

The Earth has been starting to enter an Ice Age for 10000 years or so, when the Milankovitch forcing peaked.

Total Antarctic Ice = 14.0 + 1.5 + 4.1 = 19.6 Mkm^2.

Antarctica’s ice now covers a total area of 19.5 Mkm^2 = 14.0 mkm^2 of continental land ice + 1.5 Mkm^2 of permanent shelf ice plus 4.1 Mkm^2 of total sea ice.

Well I read another article of the same report, scientists claim that they cannot blame so called "Global Warming" on this phenomenon as it is the FIRST time EVER that readings and measurements have been taken UNDER the ice.
Obviously, this means that this may just be a normal effect of Summer in Antarctica and not some doomsday senario.

Also be aware, it was only last year that there were Many articles regarding the "Volcanoes" under the glacial ice of Antarctica, and they speculate that the ice may be melting from underneath....Derr!

Worst case scenario is the ocean conveyer rivers shut down. That would kill most of the ocean life, put europe in a deep freeze where they cant grow crops and probably cause severe drought across north america. Climates would dradtically change everywhere. Could have deserts become flooded with monsoons and rain forests drying up. It wouldnt kill everything but human survival would be difficult On a civilizations scale. Global warming is an important topic if one is a self interested human. Its not just about annoying hippies, pc bs and al gore.
