This is a great editorial, suddenly as we have major elections approaching several high-profile Republicans are talking about income inequality that Democrats have recognized as an important issue for years. Somehow though, the republicans are trying to blame it on Obama (like everything else). How they can be so hypocritical is beyond me when for years they've been saying that inequality is good or not a problem (because it makes them rich).

Income inequality eh.

I wonder what Voltaire has to say on this.

After all he was one of the founders of 'liberalism'.

In general, the art of government consists of taking as much money as possible from one class of citizens to give to another. Voltaire

Voltaire

The worst form of inequality is to try to make unequal things equal. Aristotle

Aristotle

Funny thing there.

There has always been 'inequality' between jobs. Thus income will always be different.

Different work. Different pay.

Throw in fiat currency for the fait du accompli

Which brings us back to Voltaire.

Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities. Voltaire

There is no greater absurdity than American politics.

They will say whatever they feel they need to say to gain more power for themselves so that they can use their power behind closed doors to pamper themselves.

The reason they are noticing is because the super rich are taking their money out of the country creating a problem. The Republicans finally wised up and are seeing reality. They aren't getting any tax money from the major part of the money out there, it is not creating many jobs here anymore.

It might be a little late but it is better late than never.

This is funny.

Dems pissed off they can't continue to play the class warfare card.

That pretty much leaves them with no card to play.

if the deceptions of the republicans gets them the power they crave, they will ditch that 'card' like a hot potato, then it will be business as usual - serving the hyper rich scumbags that own them.

Income 'inequality' is the deception.

Because it does NOT factor in ss,medicare, unemployment, and worksmans comp.

That is ALL employee compensation.

Also called INCOME.

Modern employees have more benefits than EVER.

Those benefits are $$.

Indeed, the harder the work, the worst the pay.
That right there is inequality and that's exactly how our upside down world works.

On top of that, people that move up in ranks go on until they suck at what they do, hence why they stopped going up in ranks. So we have a world full of incompetent superiors that make more money than the people under them for doing a #ty job.

It's for reasons like this that humans are barely more than animals.

What specifically have the Democrats done to make your life better?

So you define a humans worth by how many zero's are on their government checks, and by how much employers pay them?

Enough of the social engineering already.

Stop trying shape the environment to suit the individual, and embrace the science FTW.

The science is called EVOLUTION.

People have the ability to adapt to their surroundings.

Hell that is how we 'humans' supposedly became top of the food chain.

However people are free to embrace the anti evolutionary concept of 'income inequality'

AKA anti science.

I think you will find that the some of the super rich (those with more intelligence then greed) have taken a step back and suddenly realised.......it's not the rich who buy goods and services. In fact all that income wallows in accounts doing absolutely NOTHING. It is the disposable income of the middle earners that creates demand for goods and services that results in profits and thus dividends for the super rich....but.....the middle earners disposable income is falling which means......ooops !!!!

Unfortunately even this simple aspect of the economy is beyond the comprehension of those who believe with their heart and soul in "the US dream".

Rob from the rich so the less fortunate can go out, and buy more stuff.

As Montesquieu says:

Slavery, properly so called, is the establishment of a right which gives to one man such a power over another as renders him absolute master of his life and fortune.

Montesquieu

The rich only exist to cater to every neurosis of the mob.

I prefer to think of it as the Rich paying for a society where the poor do not have to rob from them.

The world is no different than Voltaire's time.

Same snip. Different day. Different century.

Especially when it comes to politics.

Republicans come out and say they will do for the rich,

Democrats say they are helping the poor while they give to the rich.

All the while the lobbyists and their masters smile with the satisfaction of knowing they own both parties and they have bought the best politicians that money can buy!

The poor doesn't.

They just hide behind government fascism to give them the THINGS they can't get on their own.

Not much of an existence.
