Maybe we need to look at the 'criminals' who want to kill you and see what caused them to get to that place before the rest of you 'innocent' gun owning psychopaths fulfill the murderous fantasies you all wait each day for.

While you're looking at the criminals who want to kill you, I'll be trying to protect myself from the criminals who want to kill me. I'm not going to die, like a sheep, if I can help it because someone want's to understand the mind of a killer.

The real concern is the people who believe in no gun control, that is true lunacy. Guns should not be allowed into our society at all, they leave only a trail of blood masked in patriotism.

So does an unchecked government.

(B) The number of accidental gun deaths per year, all age groups is 1,500.

That's accidental death, show the true statistics, how many doctors have murdered patients compared to how many guns have murdered people.

I'm all for guns but them statistics don't represent anything logical.

Question. how does a in animate object kill someone? Its not like they can pick themselves up,load themselves, and fire with hatred or fear right?

Speaking for myself, I've never been a fan of proposals that seek to punish everyone for the actions of a few idiots, and that's exactly what the typical gun control proposal seeks to do. Just based on the statistics of gun owners vs homicides, you're basically stripping 99,990,000 people of their rights based on the actions of 10,000 on a yearly basis, and even then you're assuming all homicides are committed by legal gun owners with legal weapons, which we all know is false. On no other subject would such a proposal be 'sensible' or acceptable and it shouldn't be here, either.

Any proposal needs to be directed at the people causing problems, while also recognizing, respecting and protecting the rights of law-abiding, legal gun owners. Unfortunately, the antis generally aren't willing to do that and would rather treat every law-abiding gun owner as a likely criminal and clearly despise them. The laughably sad part is that they can't figure out why those same gun owners don't trust them or their proposals.

If you want to speed up the process just move to socialist utopia known as China.

If somebody dares own a gun to protect themselves, the State will put them to death.

I sugest you keep the topic off me and focus on the OPs post instead of trying to utter silly suggestions that make you look well silly.
Dont address me personally in another post, Ill just flag you to the mods. . . .

If they do ban the second amendment what will most Americans do? NOTHING but hand in your guns thats what.

Some people are all talk and no action, while others just act. . . .

If you dont hand them in in such a hypothetical scenario, you go to jail, and are most likely considered a terrorist.

Its a very possible scenario, and I dont think most who own guns are ready to deal with that reality, should it ever manifest.

I have only owned guns for a few years and I have went through the conceal carry training and licensing and now carry often. I will never give my guns up. As mentioned earlier most idea's on gun control hurt the majority who own firearms for self defense while they would help the criminal element to criminalize easier.

This all being said I take my right to own and carry a gun very seriously. I dread the day that I would ever have a need to use my gun for self defense but if that day comes Im trained and willing to do what I have to do to not be a victim.

The ignorant sterotyping of gun owners as nuts or fanatics shows those individuals to be eager and willing to be apart of the collective. They have more interest in being taken care of by government then taking personal responsibility to take care of themselves.

While its certainly possible that 2A will one day be repealed and firearms ownership outlawed by Congress, such a thing is highly unlikely for the forseeable future. Polling data over the last several decades shows a clear and ongoing trend against tighter gun restrictions in this country. With gun sales still at or near historically high levels, and with women representing a growing market segment, that long term trend in favor of gun rights is probably here to stay.

May not be today, but I think eventually, maybe even in our lifetimes.

My question is are my fellow Americans ready to become wanted criminals to be hunted down like criminals if the law does fall?
Or will you hand those guns in just like everyone did in Australia?
I think it will be the latter, and to any who say otherwise I just have to say BS, because you wouldnt make it as wanted fugitives.

My how un american. Wanting to give up a right for more security...OR are you in agreement that the elite who will turn that against the good people are right?

You can move to australia if you like them so much. See this is where you have th eright to leave if you do not like the way things are ran.

Giving up a right is a insult to all the past people who defended that right for people that feel that way these days.

Remember the american revolution started because of government over reach. So that is th every reason they are trying to indocrinate the youth into letting the government control their lives.

I for one DO NOT welcome our new overlords do you?

[logical

I assure you, there has never in the history of guns, been a gun that murdered anyone. Now people on the other hand, they murder all the time, and with various tools. Guns are just one tool that is used.

Anything is possible, but whether its likely or not is another matter. I don't see any reason to believe that public opinion will support a total firearms ban anytime soon when the long term trend has been and still is moving against it.

As for the possibility of Australian style confiscation/buy-backs, you run into a problem in Article 1 Section 9 of the Constitution and prohibitions on ex-post facto laws. Given that, I'm not even sure its possible here, and certainly without a major Supreme Court ruling with implications far beyond just gun control.

Your culture, your beliefs, your laws. A large percentage of Americans would say similar things about you guys on the other side of the Atlantic, with your strange, sad paranoia and fear of inanimate objects.

No one set of laws suits everyone. Our laws wouldn't work there, yours wouldn't work here.
