While many will say it's too late for such a move, I believe Western countries (especially the USA) need to adopt a much more stringent isolationist policy. I realise this is not an easy undertaking with all the bases set up around the world, but continued meddling in the affairs of foreign nations will not end well. We cannot proceed down such a path as we leave destruction and misery in our wake.

For every terrorist killed, we are sacrificing the lives of many civilians whom have nothing to do with terrorism. The reasoning that "terrorists hide among civilians when they carry out their attacks" is becoming rancid, which does little to excuse this "collateral damage". Collateral damage is always excusable until it happens to somebody you care about.

I could not agree with you more. Team America World Police isn't a satire as much as it a documentary.

We need to focus on our economy, our people, and reigning in our elected officials. Forget what some dude is doing in his cave 12000 miles away!

If a drone strike killed your kids and entire family in a oh well your family shouldnt have been shoping on that day scenario, you would be pretty pissed too.

Killing innocents is wrong, in fact killing anyone is pretty wrong as we all have the divine in every part of us.

they only way to stop the hate is through education....our public schools are and have been doing a wonderful job of teaching several generations now how to hate, what to like and what not to like etc etc.....we need to hit em where it hurts and teach our kids that hate is not the answer and that we are all equal

ETA...and i almost forgot to add our other educator the "idiot box"

I actually find many flaws in your statement.

Being 24yo when I was in school we were taught that we were all way too equal. There are no winners and losers, we are all special little snowflakes. Luckily for me my parents taught me otherwise and to fight for what is right and not to accept PC BS.

I think the problem lies deep deep inside of our elitist structure (opposite of what we were taught). Our education system teaches kids not to look for bias while they should. Teaching equality equates to kids not learning to discern BS, just love everyone. They should be sniffing out the BS, calling BS, and fighting the people who have created this BS PC hate mongering racist crap.

I found a flaw in your statement too, although not going for racism was a very good point, seeing people as different from yourself is the very pentacle of division, when in truth we are all one.

The divine is equal in all things, and by seeing that we learn to love even our enemies as our own selves.

There is no us nor them we are one.

at school we learn what is right and what is wrong and not a whole lot else......so we devolve into the current conversation we are having ...i am right, you are wrong,or from your perspective you are right and i am wrong...

Yeah I don't see where our schools are teaching the kids to hate. In fact the schools barely teach our history at all. Civil war, skimmed over,Vietnam, forget it,WW2,learn it on your own kid.It goes on and on. If you don't teach the truth of our history and other countries, the kids don't understand what is going on in the world today. If anyone is teaching hate, its our government. Hate the Muslims, hate the terrorists, hate Islam. Look there are terrorists behind every tree! Run for the hills, but not before turning in all your neighbors kids. It is just plain dumb. Hate Russia, hate Palestine, hate Israel, hate Syria, hate Libya. I mean come on,how many countries and peoples can you hate?

America needs to come off this 'we rule the world' crap and learn to get along with the 197 countries out there. We can be trading partners with them, but their religion, government, culture and beliefs are what make them who they are as a country. Agree or disagree with them, let them sort out what type of culture to have. It is not our place to run the world,we do a really bad job of it. We let our people suffer, our infrastructure suffer, but boy oh boy do we like to pump money into our war machine. Thats why we are number 1. In military spending and prisoners only. We rank down there on helping our people. You can't expect to have a better society if you won't invest in it.

i wont get into this on this thread as it is getting off topic..i guess it could be a thread in itself, schools teach the march...left right left right,we are taught division....not unity....hate is a by product of being taught such division...if you look into schools they came from churches and churches are prompted by religion....

They used to teach the melting pot, and celebrate that while we have differences we (just referring to America) were still all Americans and that should be enough.

Then the PC police came along and demanded we only celebrate our differences.

How can you celebrate the unity when kids are only taught how they are different.

I totally agree with the OP. I would love to see the US concentrate on Americans instead of everyone else. The world has told us they want us gone and I say we let them fend for themselves. We can let them focus on the world and next time they come knocking we shouldn't be there to open the door.

An honest question for you... Why do you think that 'isolationism' will cut down on 'hate'?

Because bombing/droning people in foreign nations creates resentment and frustration towards those doing it. Providing aid and support to people who are oppressing and destabilising foreign nations fuels hatred from the living relatives of those that suffer or get killed via Western meddling.

Hate will not cease completely if an isolationist policy is followed, but the degree of hate could be reduced substantially.

First step in my eyes is stop the madness of holding up our differences as being more important than what we have in common.

But i doubt that will happen in my lifetime, at least in the states.

Not only that, we're creating more terrorists who want to revenge the lost of their loved ones. The U.S. was always complaining about the Soviet Union wanting to spread communism around the world. The U.S. is doing exactly the same thing, trying to change the ideology and political climate of other countries.

The only way lasting change occurs, is when the people rise-up and over throw their own governments. I agree, let countries solve their own problems and conflicts in their own neighborhoods. We wouldn't like other countries meddling in U.S. affairs, why would they accept it?
