anyway in response to the comment on shooting a shoggoth, how in the blu F**K are you going to kill something physically if it has NO PHYSICAL FORM???

and as for the comment on the disclaimer, i put it in because i heard once that a woman married this guy and he was a weirdo cult member. he got her to do crazy stuff and she ended up in an institute, where she told the docs about all the occult stuff they had done.

Actually, they never did exist. They were made up by Lovecraft.

Some good research into ancient cultures and their (real) literature and beliefs will prove this. The cities cited by Lovecraft don't exist, and are never referenced anywhere else, and the descriptions of the entities are completely at odds with the belief systems of the cultures.

Uh... to show you how jarringly bad the idea is, it's kind of like listening to people say that Christians worship Babs Bunny, who brings treats and hair ribbons at Easter time.

Yeah, but then you're just making an energy ball and giving it a "cool name". As I pointed out, it's completely limited to your own abilities and fades quickly and has little power. And that's why you'd do better summoning Bugs... or Daffy.

Eh, you can do it and call it that on the grounds that it's "cool"... but if your real objective is to get something done, then all you've really accomplished is entertaining your mind.

You can't be sure if they exist yes or no for the simple fact that right now you don't have no physical way of perceiving them. Which leads us to the age old mistake: "If I can't pinch it and make it scream, it doesn't exist."

I'm saying these things especially because of what I've personally experienced.
