Climate change is real, because it happens in cycles according to where you live.

We are pumping CO2 among other stuff into the atmosphere. That is not the only thing we are doing to change this planet.

Human induced climate change is our reality.

Are you trying to tell me that the CO2 level jump, about 40% in the past half century, is just a coincidence? or bad data?

That data is there, the evidence is there. Humans as a species are changing this planet.

No I agree it has, I disagree it is a bad thing.

I also agree the planet has warmed, I disagree it is human induced.

Look at historical facts here.

It always warms up after an ice age, hence the ice age ending.

Glaciers melt after an ice age..this is a fact as well.

The climate doesn't care a bunch of douche bags don't want to move farther inland from the coasts.

The world will warm even farther, the ocean will rise, once again I don't see this as a bad thing.

It is just reality.

We will adapt or die off.

The world should not be expected to stay static in climate and geography because we want it to, in fact expecting it to is idiotic.

With warmer weather comes prosperity, this is a known fact just in human histories short span.

With more co2 comes larger faster growing plants, combined with warmer weather means awesome sauce for food production the world over.

Millions of years ago there were both higher temps and higher co2 concentrations.....the world was fine...in fact it was a lush tropical garden that spawned the most successful species in the history of our world...dinosaurs.

I see more co2 and warming as a positive.

You are falling for poomporn flat out.

No, I go outside and observe the world. This is not 'doomporn'; this is the world we live in.

We are destroying the forest, a natural CO2 sink in the atmosphere. Because of our pollution phytoplankton(another CO2 sink) does not flourish like it once did it some areas.

It is absolutely insane that you think more CO2 as a result of human activity is something that we should ignore and simply learn to adapt to.

WE as a species control the destiny of this planet.

Have you not learned the lessons of Rapa Nui, aka Easter Island?

Yes I have...as well as the lessons from the dust bowl here in the states.

Those were because of over use and misuse of resources.

I don't have a hard time believing without a doubt more co2 and warmer temps are a good thing.

Both have been much higher, there was no out of control warming then, there won't be now either.

Should we use our rescourses better? Oh my goodness gracious yes...we could hardly do much worse of a job.

We are getting better though.

Alternative energy is coming along, not close to what we need yet, but it is coming along in its own time.

Our resource management is much better than it used to be, we need a lot if work here still though.

Japan needs to stop killing all the whales and sharks....hopefully they will smarten up soon.

Pay attention people who the real neocon's are. Here trying to control the entire planet. How the hell is that going to be accomplished I ponder.

Science is evil - but not the people with money and a desire to preserve their interests. Unless those moneyed people are also neocons...then they are just as bad as bad scientists

Only the real conservatives understand science. They also have the planet's best interests at heart

The Senate Discovers Climate Change!

A landslide vote brings Congress's upper chamber into the 21st century—a little

You poor, paranoid dear

Sorry neo - tide's turning. Not fast enough. But, even a desperate wannabe like Romney can see the way forward

What an EFFING joke.

True or false ?

Does the US government rule the entire planet ?

So what US government policies enacted here is going to do what in places like China ?

Want to know how many trillions of dollars have spent spent on 'global warming' since it's inception in the 70s ?

Want to know just how many billions politicians, and scientists have made off it since ?

Say hello to how LOBBYING gets created.

Furthermore has the US government EVER fixed any problem EVER ?

No.

They just create 'problems' complicate the hell out of them. Then rinse and repeat. Then do it all over again.

See the Clean Air Act. The EPA.

And now we're all gonna die if we don't let the US government 'save' the planet!

Climate change is a joke.

Oh yeah us Pseudo conservatives which was a GD insult. Know the planet is in a constant state of motion.

Has been for over 5 billion years.

Warming, and cooling LONG before man ever started walking upright.

But what the hell ever.

I think it's funny that people who won't trust science (at all - ever - not even just a little, except when it's about something they think is really cool) think science is a conspiracy against them if it's going to touch their money

Kinda like hating on the Pope when he points out certain things. Hands off the money honey. Scientists and the poor ain't nothing but liars, cheats and thieves

Business men - they got your back

The ocean will continue to become more acidic due to carbon dioxide emissions. Because of this acidification, species with hard calcium carbonate shells are vulnerable, as are coral reefs, which are vital to ocean ecosystems. Scientists predict that a 3.6 degree Fahrenheit increase in temperature would wipe out 97 percent of the world's coral reefs.

If we lose the oceans - we are cooked. And there is a lot of bad news coming out of the oceans these days. But - that's just science

But what the hell ever.

Sarcasm duly noted

I'm only here to point out - things are changing. It may be too late already (notice the glimmer of hope - there are plenty of people out there that will tell you it is too late already)

I think your thread is pretty funny neo. Romney was really the last straw for you? Hilarious!

I raise my glass to you neo - and toast to your good health and a future that will allow you and yours, and then theirs to thrive. Thrive!

All because, if you're right neo, and I'm wrong - I will be one deliriously happy girl

Feel free to keep parroting big government fascism for the common 'good'.

I trust scientists. If more scientists than not, claim that man is influencing a warming trend with his pollution, then I'm going to have to go with that.

Again it's more scientists than not. A majority of scientists and scientific organizations from government funded to independent to universities to everything from all countries around the globe.

If they are lying to us, then it's the biggest conspiracy in the history of the earth, ever! I find that hard to believe.

No one.

Don't trust government.

Don't believe in the supremacy of the state over the individual.

Far too much has been done in the name of the common good that has been pure evil.

Like everything else in politics.

The climate change hype is about power, and control.

Nothing else.

I know it's true because the power people involved are using financial tools to control the markets.

And the governments are using laws and regulations to control the markets.

Carbon trading and regulations are the power & control.

Scientific truth is not determined by a vote of scientists.

Climate "science" isn't science at all. It's political posturing.

Science is creating a hypothesis, then testing the hypothesis. Peers should be able to replicate the same tests with the same results.

Every climate model that forecasts 50 years into the future is, by definition, not testable.

It's bogus. The models are being curve fit to produce the desired projection.

Now there's a statement that really digs down to get at common sense.

I'm in awe.

Climatologists are just wannabe politicians who get paid to say whatever their duly elected masters want. The only trouble is that politicians always need to get elected.

It reminds me of what Daklugie, a wise Chiricahau, once said; "In addition to the characteristic hypocrisy of the White Eyes they had the queer custom of changing chiefs every four years. It takes that long or longer for a man to learn how to be a chief. Perhaps they were still trying to find one they could respect and trust. Perhaps they never will. That's the way it looked to me."

Perhaps they never will. Maybe scientists should be elected instead of politicians.

Science is pretty impartial.

Politics is never impartial.

Science + politics cannot be impartial.

AGW is science + politics^2, national and international.

AGW gives the new international government its first major source of income.

Because a warmer climate change would most likely be a good thing. It was for the Romans (Roman Climatic Optimum)and for the High Middle Ages (medieval climate optimum).

The weather should be getting warmer since we left the "little Ice Age" about 100 years ago.

They have increased the power of government to fight a hysterically promoted hypothetical threat.

The increase in governmental power they have achieved would not fix any of the dire disasters that they have predicted, but that's OK because the goal was always more power.

At some point in the future, the climate change threat will disappear and another layer of government will be the only result.
