I doubt they will find a route in to our world. A couple days ago they showed a illustration of all the debris and space junk orbiting Earth. They would be lucky to find a way in, and why would they, they can harvest all the exotic metals there in orbit. One day it might all flatten out like the rings of Saturn.

If we really are the master species, then we would reveal them, the world unite and challenge them to a fight to the death. And if we lose, then hey, we exit the game and there's no regret. But nope, we only tend to pick on the weak.

Of course, we would surely lose to stronger technological civilizations, so in the end, it's not about winning and losing, but rather, making this world as interesting to live in as possible, and that's the difficult part, how do we make this world interesting, without their help? How do we get the maximum number of people to be able to live on cruise ships(that is, if we don't destroy the environment so that there's nothing to see), and then to travel spaceships, and do the same on other planets, etc. I think it's time for our governments to show their presence, meet other species, travel to as many civilizations as possible, etc. because as is, I don't see a point to this world.

Oh its much more complicated then that. Even if they were friendly, that does not mean they would not cause havoc on things by simply being there. Its like introducing the most docile of animal species into the most habitable zone with the best of intentions. Over time that introduction of a new species will change the whole ecosystem and every other single organism in that ecosystem simply by them being there.

And never mind friendly and everything else. In the best possible outcome things are going to change and likely in a harsh way for the inhabitants of this planet if someday some species of alien just showed up here. And that is for the friendly ones. Which offcouse is a completely human concept. In all aspects it would be like introducing a group of tigers into the ecosystem of a school cafeteria during lunch time for both species. Yup! Some issues may ensue there in.

If they visit, they will be friendly. The cosmos has a built-in safeguard about this. If they were destructive they would have blown themselves to bits long before coming here.

Citation needed? Look at us. Despite having the tech, knowledge and resources to spread amongst the stars... We choose to fight instead. To some far flung alien species, We are their 'unfriendly aliens', but they are perfectly safe from us. We may one day visit them, but only when we can be friends with each other.

I see no reason to believe that the cosmos has a built-in safeguard. On what do you base this claim?

We made it to the moon, didn't we?
