My daughter is in Rochester Michigan driving and called to report she is seeing at least TWO huge fireballs in the sky...NOW.
Can anyone there confirm?

She is sending us a photo....but I wanted to get this up immediately.

Two were orange and white and one was going up...but is bright red.

She says she was looking WEST from Rochester Michigan.

Are they heading up to Canada? *GULP*
Would be cool to see video. I have seen two with my own eyes and they are spectacular!

She just said she took a photo on her phone and is going to send it.
I will have to figure out how to post it here from my wife's phone.

If the phone has the capability, try to text or e-mail the photo to yourself to get it to a device that is ATS-friendly.

Just a thought to help.

Sorry. she said her photo didn't turn out (she was driving).
Anyhow, maybe someone else in the area also saw it.

To me, they sound like high-altitude jets reflecting sun...but she didn't think so. I told her I'd ask ATS if anyone else in the area also spotted the fireballs.

If "going up" it might be 'coming up, over the horizon'.

That looks like its rising (which it is).

Copied from: www.spaceweather.com:

..."Every night, a network of NASA all-sky cameras scans the skies above the United States for meteoritic fireballs. Automated software maintained by NASA's Meteoroid Environment Office calculates their orbits, velocity, penetration depth in Earth's atmosphere and many other characteristics. Daily results are presented here on Spaceweather.com.

On Jan. 14, 2015, the network reported 6 fireballs."...

Looks like there were a bunch of sightings in the northern Ohio and southeastern Michigan area (where my daughter was), this evening.

Photo's please! I was farther away than your daughter, and didn't see anything, but I'm curious as that area is in my neighborhood.

Something like that should've attracted quite a bit of notice.

Too far south and east for me I think. Still, I haven't been out as much due to weather.
