Absurd Number of Stars

So, not sure if this should be a thread, but for the record:

I should not have this many Stars. As of right now, I seem to have:

3,237 posts, 111 Flags
5,981,595 Stars!!!

Not to complain, but I know that isn't the case. In fact, considering I think most of those posts were made back in the days before the star system came about, there might be a bug somewhere.

It's a known glitch that hit certain members when the board change took place.

A bunch of us have infected accounts.
The post count and flags are accurate.
Ignore the star count.

it's a glitch, some memebers after the format change wound up with boko stars.

Listen to al the "star" accounts… "just ignore it."

I would rather it got fixed personally.

I don't really care about stars all that much,
but still wonder how many I actually have.

I almost abandoned my account at one point just because I felt "bugged"

I understand. There are bugs and there are bugs. To noobs it must present a quandary of sorts. Sort of wow, this place has gods and how will i ever be that popular? Not intimidating at all.

Yeah, I have actually gotten unusual responses from new members before due to the star count.

Yeah, glitch. But honestly something that should get fixed one of these days...I mean years... If it was an easy fix, SO would have probably done it by now. It is obviously a tough problem- and maybe one with no solution- without a complete rebuild of coding that would take months. Not worth it. I just wonder though if a new module engine could be written that would source from the still valid post and flag counts...

Right, thats good to hear. I guess I should have used the search function really. And I may have seen some absurd numbers and thought that person might somehow have actually got that many...

You were one of a few that got a bonus during the transition. You must have received the bonus for not rocking the boat.

As a "Noob", I was rather confused as to why certain members had millions of stars and karma scores in the tens of thousands, when other members with the relative same amount of posts had but thousands of stars and karma scores in the 20's. I have been enlightened. As for believing in "gods", not so much. Popularity is something that insecure people hope to attain. I simply enjoy voicing my opinion.

Yup, it's inaccurate. Didn't Carl Sagan there were billions and billions of stars?!
