I don't think they would be that stupid.

Any attack on them together like that would unleash pure hell the world has not seen for a very long time.

The combined military might of all those countries the middle east would be a dust bowl.

Here is an interesting article in (The Jewish Daily Forward)...

forward.com...

I personally feel...that it would have been great to see President Obama walking with the other world leaders in that march in France today.

So you can see a suicide attack?

Honestly, that is what you would have seen.

Obama and many other world leaders killed, this would have been the result.

No...of course not I always want President Obama to be safe... but what makes you think any of that would have happened?

I think partisan BS would have been avoided on this occasion... ...

Especially by the people who are making this a partisan issue here on ATS. not every world leader attended - in fact only 30 did - a small minority.

Just another Obama-hater beatup because they want to.

The US president is the holy grail, he is the epitome of all they want to deatroy.

There would without a doubt been an attempt had he been present.

This would have been the ultimate, even the most protected person on the planet is not safe propaganda in history.

Think deep here, what is the biggest ever.

Common, this is obvious.

Statement by the President on the Attack in France

I strongly condemn the horrific shooting at the offices of Charlie Hebdo magazine in Paris that has reportedly killed 12 people. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims of this terrorist attack and the people of France at this difficult time. France is America’s oldest ally, and has stood shoulder to shoulder with the United States in the fight against terrorists who threaten our shared security and the world. Time and again, the French people have stood up for the universal values that generations of our people have defended. France, and the great city of Paris where this outrageous attack took place, offer the world a timeless example that will endure well beyond the hateful vision of these killers. We are in touch with French officials and I have directed my Administration to provide any assistance needed to help bring these terrorists to justice.

There wasn't time for Al to apply for a Peddler's License in Paris.

The Interpol background checks take too long.

Pay no mind to the absence of our government. They do not represent us very well any more.

Notre force est votre force. Nous nous souvenons de votre fraternité. Notre fin ne est pas encore ici. Dans l'unité nous vaincrons.

Our Strength is your strength. We remember your brotherhood. Our end has not yet come. In unity we shall overcome.

I find it embarrassing that, if Obama would or could not attend, another high ranking official like Biden or Kerry didn't attend.
Poor form....very poor form.

ETA
Has any excuse been forthcoming for the snub???

Crickets.

I'm sure you'll hear of scheduling issues, and/or security issues... Or perhaps they will be more creative with their "talking points" on this one?

I don't think any excuse would be acceptable in this situation considering many other countries were able to send some of their high ranking officials even the ones who don't see eye to eye came together for one reason.

What a wasted opportunity.

I checked the White House site.

But nothing is listed.

www.whitehouse.gov...

2 and 0 for 'government ran websites' not working.

Would legitimate security concern be a legit reason for any of you?

I mean its always being preached how these extremest are out to destroy america and yada yada.

Would sending the president to an area that just had attacks not pose a possible attack?

We all know it is not just gassing up the plane and going, not for him or for joe.

I said he should have been there on page one, but would be willing to accept they tried to plan a trip but were just not able due to lack of time and planning.

If Netanyahu could make it, anybody could have.
