Today, France is the center of the world to refuse extremism and to express and renew the true values that are the freedom of speech and tolerance.

Liberté, égalité, fraternité are more than ever true and I'm proud of my country that still can be mobilized to defend these values.

This is the most important demonstration in France since the end of WW2.

I personally went to this march in my small town and was really surprised by the true communion between all the people, from all religions, skin colors, social position and opinions.

I was very impressed by some scenes, like when the police was warmly applauded by the crowd.

We are Charlie and we refuse intolerance, extremism, racism and hatred more than ever.

It is impressive, no matter how you look at it.

Even Muslim extremists have to be impressed, and hopefully now more aware that their acts of evil will ultimately unite people against them.

Watching on cable, seen a sign held up, hand drawn, hand forming a middle finger gesture. Kinda captured the sentiment of the crowd.

I am astounded to see so many people up and supporting a cause. I can't help but see this and wonder what is wrong with America that you can't get the people up to protest and protect their rights and constitution if people in other countries can come together like this as a show of force. It can't be just a matter of we are all fat and happy. There has to be more to it. They too in other countries have the same modern conveniences that we do,yet they get out in the street and let others know how they feel. This only leads me to wonder what exactly is wrong in this country? I think this goes even beyond complacency. This has to be apathy in its worst form. If that is the case, what does it take to jolt people out of their apathy?

Has America become a country of cowards?

There are historic situations in which refusal to defend the inheritance of a civilization, however imperfect, against tyranny and aggression may result in consequences even worse than war.

Maybe it is because Jews were killed in the attacks there. Perhaps that gives him a right to be there? ... One of those rare times where all of the Jew haters will allow his brief visit.

Bigger question is...

Where is president Obama?

All of those leaders there, and the leader of the free world is not?

we have been destroyed from within, terrified to have an opinion, political correctness run amok

I had no idea that the even more liberal press of France had more rights then Americans, and more freedom of speech

Ummm, he's Israels Prime Minister, not the leader of the Jews.

Either way. He still has every right to be there as does everyone else. But as a political leader one must wonder.

Exactly. Israelis were not killed. Jews were. He's the prime minister of the Zionist state of Israel, not Jewish state.

Does it?.. what dose it say?

Obama did say "The future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam."

In this case, I think that speaks even more.

I think it's very nice when people gather for a common cause ....just wondering where were these 2 million on September eleven/twelve (even thirteen/fourteen) ?

Sometimes i just don't understand people.

Hate to question pesky things like the numbers.

2.5 Million ?

They must have the same guy counting as they used in the Million Man March.

300 million people in the US and you would never see that many stand against anything all at once.

Sad really. The Nation that claims they fight for it won't exercise it.

Peace
